Burp Bread. Yes I said Burp Bread

Ok I know you all know that I love my Tupperware.  And I am assuming that you also know I love to cook (hence the Easy Cooking label and all the Recipe shares).

But how about bread?  How about cooking bread?  Do you make your own bread or do you opt out and just go to the store?  Would you like to be able to say .. I MADE that bread?

Here is an AWESOME recipe that is really super easy AND makes some really great bread and rolls too.

I need to be makin' me some bread or rolls or cinnamon rolls really soon ...

So maybe it is a good thing that we still make those "burp" bowls at Tupperware!  Don't have a Fix n Mix bowl?  Use a Thatsa Bowl .. it would work just as well.  In fact that was how I first learned how to make this recipe.

Check out those "burp" bowls as well as all the other things available at Tupperware.  I know you will be amazed at all the "new" things we have!

Begin Each Day

I thought that this one was perfect for today.

Not just because it is a Sunday.
It is the beginning of the week.
It is an in your face, but in a sweet way, way to get you ready to start a new month in a few days.

I think when we really bring this to life in our lives, we are at the beginning of a whole new world.

No more thinking that we "deserve" something just because we are here.  No more "deserving" because someone said or did something to us or our family whether it was yesterday or 100 years ago.

When we start with a grateful heart, we are thanking God for giving us 1 more day.  One more day to make something special with what we have been allowed to have.

Now if we could get more people to take this to heart ... just think of what kind of life we could be living in.

Sharing The Trick

I know that what I am sharing is NOT EASY.
I would be lying if I said it was, and lying is just not something I do here.

Life is meant to be lived, not just endured.  It is meant to make you want to be here, to enjoy everything that life has to share. Sometimes what is shared is not the best, but we need to learn from those days and not just wish them away.  So yes, those are the not so easy parts that come along.

But if every day was the best, how would we know that they were the best?
If we just kept wishing away those days that weren't the best, what would we have learned?
And if we kept wishing away a day ... then two or three .... I would have to be like my grandma and say .... Stop wishing for this day to end because you are wishing your life away.

And I don't know about you, but I just have too much to learn and too much to give and share ... I sure don't want to be wishing my life away!

Allow the good things to happen

Sometimes we try so hard to make things happen that we either forget what it is that we really wanted to happen or it seems to take forever to actually happen and we change our minds.

Then the question is ... was this the way it was suppose to happen?  Or did our past color what we thought was suppose to happen?

When I saw these, I knew they belonged together and right here.

While we are letting go and allowing what can be ... be,  we just have to have faith and believe.

Thank you Power of Positivity for reminding us

Lemon Cake Bites

Ingredients

  • 16.5-oz./470 g package lemon cake mix
  • Eggs, oil and water according to cake package directions
  • 16-oz./455 g can cream cheese frosting
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced using Zest ’N Press® Gadget
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Combine eggs, oil and water in base of Power Chef™ System, fitted with paddle whisk attachment, cover and pull cord to combine.
  2. Add cake mix to liquids in Power Chef™ base, cover and pull cord until well combined.
  3. Spray TupperWave® Stack Cooker 3-Qt./3 L Casserole and Cone with nonstick cooking spray and pour in batter.
  4. Microwave at 70% power 10 minutes, or until knife inserted into cake comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool slightly before crumbling cake into large bowl.
  6. Add frosting and lemon zest to cake and mix together.
  7. Fit Snack Press with rectangular nozzle and fill base with half of cake mixture. Pack cake mixture by blocking nozzle attachment with scraper and pressing down gently with plunger.
  8. Remove scraper and press down evenly with plunger to release dough onto the guide sheet. Using scraper, cut dough along every other line to make square cakes.
  9. Use scraper to help remove dough from guide sheet and transfer to Silicone Wonder® Mat.
  10. Repeat with remaining cake mixture.
  11. To create glaze, in 1-Qt./1 L Micro Pitcher, microwave butter on high power 30–60 seconds until melted, then whisk in powdered sugar and 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  12. Once glaze is smooth, drizzle over cake bites. Can be chilled or enjoyed at room temperature.
I haven't tried this one yet, and I do have the snack press, but I bet you could do this one without it.  I bet you could make this in the microwave (stack cooker) and cut into bite size snacks and make the glaze.

I may have to try it that way too.  Check out the Tupperware pieces on my Tupperware Site, if you are needing any of these pieces.

Real Beauty - can we find it?

Do you know that there are all kinds of beauty?
But there is only one that lasts?
Do you know what the difference is?

We need to be teaching our children from a very early age to look for the real beauty in everyone and help to share that beauty with others.

I believe that as they learn to look for the real beauty, in the end, we will have a world that is worth saving and living in.

Cooking for One

I know there are times that its just me for dinner, and I have no idea what to make. Sometimes that means I'm not eating (just picking) or not "healthy" or I've got a ton of leftovers to deal with.

This one is just perfect for those who want something pretty quick and easy, yet really tasty and deserving of your dinner table.

I would make a little rice and a salad and call it dinner.  The Rock 'N Serve is not available from Tupperware anymore, but it is really the same as the Vent 'N Serve that is in the current catalog

Of course we couldn't skip dessert.  Now this one doesn't include chocolate (but I bet you could drizzle some on top) but it does give a nice warm feeling after your meal.  And if you wanted to top it with some vanilla ice cream ... I wouldn't think badly of you.

This is great for individual servings, but you could use any kind of fruit, even canned.  I bet if you had a small can of mixed fruit/fruit cocktail, it would work perfectly in this one too.

Infatuation vs Love

With the start of the school year, the start of our "older" kids going away to college, or starting out on their own, I thought this one was perfect.

Young love is always wonderful, but of course they really don't understand that there is a difference between infatuation and real love.

Maybe it is time to share this with our children (maybe every year) until they find their true love ....

Quick and Easy Breakfast Sandwich

Ingredients:
4 eggs
¼ tsp. coarse kosher salt
2 tbsp. water
2 English muffins, halved & toasted
2 slices cheddar cheese
2 tomato slices
¼ cup spinach leaves
2 strips precooked bacon (optional)

Instructions:
1. Whisk together eggs, salt and water. Pour into base of Microwave Breakfast Maker, cover and microwave at 70% power 3–4 minutes or until eggs are cooked through.
2. Cut egg patty in half and place each half on an English muffin topped with cheese, tomato, spinach and bacon (if desired).

Be creative.
Try adding chopped peppers and onion to your egg mixture and topping with Pepper Jack cheese and salsa for a southwest breakfast sandwich.
Try adding chopped asparagus tips or zucchini sliced super thin with onions and red peppers to the egg mixture and top with Parmesan cheese for an interesting Italian breakfast sandwich.

The Breakfast Maker is on sale this month (mid Aug brochure to Sept 11th) and includes 2 inserts for poached eggs that I showed you/told you about here ... check it out on my Tupperware Site.

Everyone has time for breakfast now ... no more fast food restaurants or skipping breakfast (and you know that is bad for you)!

Homemade Hash Browns

I know that hash browns are a favorite in our house, and when we go to Cracker Barrel the Hash Brown Casserole is a must for Jenn and I. So when I saw this one I thought it would be a good start to making our own at home.

The Tupperware Grate Master Shredder is the first thing that I wanted to pick up when I saw the Fall Catalog, just for this kind of recipe.  I thought about carrots for carrot cake or zucchini for zucchini bread too but that's another post

PREP: 5 minutes
COOK: 10 minutes

1 large russet potato, peeled & halved lengthwise
1 tbsp. unsalted butter
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Assemble Grate Master™ Shredder fitted with coarse grater cone. Place one potato half in hopper, press down lightly with plunger and turn handle to shred the potato.
2. Heat butter in Chef Series Nonstick Griddle over medium heat.
3. Using a Chef Series Microfiber towel, squeeze grated potato to remove excess moisture.
4. Once pan is hot, add grated potato and spread into a thin layer. Cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Flip and continue to cook until golden brown and cooked through.
5. Season with salt and pepper and serve warm.

Note:
If desired, grate ½ small onion or add ¼ tsp. onion powder to potatoes.
If desired, add some freshly grated cheese (I'm thinking cheddar cheese would be awesome).

I am also going to be looking for the Hash Brown Casserole Copy Cat recipe to use this Grater Shredder with.

If you think this is as awesome as I do, you can pick up your own on my Tupperware Site as it is part of the Fall Catalog.  I think it is going to be a big seller, so don't wait too long .... I don't want you to be disappointed.

Tupperware Fall 2015

I just wanted to share with you some of the new items that Tupperware has for it's Fall Line.

I love my bowls, but this one is great, especially if you want to use your electric hand mixer in a small space.  With the removable center ring, the electric mixer won't cause a spatter of batter all over your counter (or walls in some cases).

But my FAVORITE of all has to be the Grater Master Shredder!

I think the shredded cheese people will be very unhappy with me, since with this baby I will not be buying pre-shredded cheese anymore.  I will have fresh shredded cheese of all kinds whenever I want it.  And I think fresh shredded will melt better, but I can't say I have any "proof" of that one.  I also like the fact that you can be making your own hash-brown potatoes and can see this being the best way to shred carrots for carrot cake or zucchini for zucchini nut bread .... This is definitely a great addition to my kitchen.

Check out the new items in the Tupperware Fall Catalog as well as the items on sale in the Mid August brochure on my Tupperware Site. Remember the Summer Catalog ends on August 28th, so if there is something that you want from there ... don't wait or you will miss out.  After August 28th there are some items that will be gone or changed - so don't wait around until the 29th.

Believe in yourself and spread your wings.

This one is a really nice way to explain to kids that it is ok to believe in yourself, to trust yourself to be able to do something that you really want to do.

If you believe in yourself, there is little that can stop you.  Be the owl and believe.

Make school lunch for the week

I saw this one on the Ziplock site and thought it would be PERFECT for the lunch set that is on sale this month (mid August brochure) here at my Tupperware site.

The lunch keepers (I think they look like mini bento boxes, each with one 1⅓-cup and two 1/3-cup separated compartments) would be perfect for the "main" part of the meals and then the snack cups would work great for some desserts (like these no bake fun fetti cakes).

You can start with these ingredients and make all kinds of lunches for the week in those containers.... Or just use it as a guide and make substitutions for ingredients that can't or won't be eaten.

Ingredients/Ideas:
Grapes, Raspberries, Strawberries
Raisins, Oranges, Lemons
Cherry tomatoes, Red Peppers
Romaine Lettuce, Celery
Pitas, Tortilla Chips, Crackers
Slivered Almonds, Cashews
Mayo, Salsa, Salad Dressing
Peanut Butter, Hummus
Chicken Breasts
Cheddar Cheese
Chocolate Chips and Bar

Prep
  • Start with the fruits and veggies. Once everything is washed and dried, chop one stalk of celery finely, for the chicken salad, and chop rest of the celery into sticks (big enough for a spread of peanut butter).
  • Quarter a few cherry tomatoes and leave the rest whole.
  • Dice the red pepper.
  • Tear lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
  • Peel and segment the orange.
  • Separate the grapes into bunches.
  • Shred half the cheese, and cut the rest into cubes, roughly the same size as the cherry tomatoes.
  • Break the dark chocolate into squares.
  • Chop the cooked chicken breasts. Set aside 2 cups for the chicken salad. Cut the rest into small cubes.
Thanks Ziplock for some great ideas.  I will definitely be using these ideas (and more that you inspired) to make lunches ... even left-overs, I mean planned-overs, will be great additions for lunch using these ideas.

Microwave Poached Eggs

I don't know how many folks liked poached eggs, either on toast or as Eggs Benedict, but I know it is a great idea so that breakfast doesn't get boring.  I also know that I have tried to make them on the stove-top and have had to be very very careful to make them 1) stay together as I put in the water and 2) not break as I'm getting it together on the toast or English muffin.

Here we have a perfect solution from Tupperware.  This month, we have our Breakfast maker that has 2 inserts that make those problems disappear.  The instructions say add 3 tablespoons of water to the inserts and add an egg.  I say, if you add the 3 tablespoons and the egg isn't submerged (or almost submerged) add a little more water, then microwave about a minute.  Done!

Eggs Benedict anyone?  As easy as this is, I bet you could make these any morning - not just on a weekend.  Or how about an nice brunch or even breakfast for dinner!

Need some Hollandaise sauce?

Melt 10 Tbsp unsalted butter.
Put 3 egg yolks, a tablespoon of lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt into the Power Chef and mix until eggs lighten in color.
Slowly dribble in the melted butter (still hot/warm)while continuing to blend. Taste for salt and acidity and add more salt and/or lemon juice to taste.
Use while warm or put into a microwave safe container with a pouring spout.

I am thinking you could either cut this down so that you don't have a huge amount of Hollandaise Sauce (I'm thinking 1/3 would work - 3 T and 1 tsp of butter, 1 egg yolk, 1 tsp of lemon juice and a dash of salt).  Since this is not "cooked" make sure you are using pasteurized eggs for safety.

The breakfast maker with the poached egg inserts are only available with the Mid August brochure (at least that's all I know of right now) so if you want to check this out - jump on over to my Tupperware Site.  The price is really great too ... its almost as if you buy the inserts and get the breakfast maker FREE!

Mid August 2015 brochure

I had to share this one since it starts this morning that you can check out on my Tupperware Site!!
There are all kinds of great things to make taking lunches to work or school super easy and allowing them to stay a delectable option.

Oh and of course some great items for breakfasts too.  So college kids could be helped with all of these too!

The smooth chopper is back, but I'm not sure for how long, so if you are interested in this one - now is the time to grab it.  I had sent this one with my daughter when she first went away and didn't have a real kitchen to work in. She loved it for all kinds of things including smoothies for breakfast!  Now it includes the Chop 'N Prep to make quick work of herbs and onions and such.

The Fall 2015 catalog was released 2 weeks EARLY this morning!  SO starting today until August 28th you can order from the Summer 2015 catalog, the Mid August Brochure AND the Fall 2015 catalog!!  I am really excited because they have a great ADDITION to the catalog ... check it out!!

Remember my Tupperware Site is always open ... so shopping in your PJs is perfectly acceptable!

The future really should be a mystery

I know that many of us say we would love to know what the future holds.  But in reality I don't think we really do.  I think that the not knowing is sometimes part of what can push us forward, to create, to evolve, to grow.

So lets take this one to heart and do as it says.  We could be building an even better future than what would be if we knew what was going to happen.

And just maybe the future will be even brighter for you and me!

Do you know the differences between all the Tupperware Choppers?

I know that some are confused about what chopper to use for what purpose.  For many things they are interchangeable, but some are better than others, depending on what you want to do.

I really do love them all, and use them all.
But if you want the best of all worlds, you get the Power Chef Premium System (just $6 more) and then you get the Power Chef and Chop 'n Prep together, which is an awesome bonus.  You can even mix a cake with it!  I love it.  I've mixed a cake, chopped up fruit and whipped cream for the topping all with the same Power Chef.

You can grab any, or all, of these from my Tupperware Site at any time of day or night.  I really love that feature.

Have a question about what I've shown above, just give me a shout.  I know the Smooth Chopper hasn't been around for a few years, and to be honest, I don't know how long it will be, so IF you are looking for this one you had better jump in on the mid-August brochure.  I know that Jenn likes hers at her dorm to do some easy mixing (scrambled eggs, omelets and even smoothies) and I bet it would work great for those protein drinks that all the kids seem to be using at the gym.

Tupperware has a solution for just about anything.

Tupperware Impressions Bowl Set Deal

Don't know if you saw this or not ... so I'm sharing here too.

This is ONLY good until Friday August 14th so you really need to jump on over to My Tupperware Site and search for the Magical Impressions Set to get this great deal.  I have a set and think it is PERFECT for all kinds of things.  So much so I took a glass set of bowls that I had in the cabinet and replaced them with this set.  No more fear of someone dropping them (old set was heavy) and with the bonus colander and serving tongs at this great price, you can't go wrong!

You can either go to my Tupperware Site and look around/purchase this awesome set (remember before Friday night) or you can jump onto the current party I have set up that will be closing soon too.  Whether you chose ordering directly from my site or through the party link, your purchase will be into processing immediately - the party does not need to close before it is put into the process.

Be the First

Sometimes I think that there is a race to be "the First".
Then other times I find that NOBODY wants to be "the First" so everyone is dragging their feet.

Well here is the perfect reason to be "the First"

And no it is NOT the easiest thing to do,
That's why you get to be all of these things ....
As the benefit of being "the First".

Let's try to be "the First" from now on.

No bake fun fetti cakes!

I saw this one and just HAD to share.

I can see these being made anywhere with the Tupperware Power Chef or Quick Chef Pro and using the Snack Cups for after lunch or dinner.  You could probably freeze them and they would be defrosted if you wanted to send for lunches for school or work ...  You could probably (I haven't tried it yet) use the ice cream stackers (available through Friday 8/14) for these too.

Oh I could even see these in college dorms for cram sessions :)  Just sayin'

The Tupperware pieces can, as always, be found on my Tupperware Site
Oh and if you join my team (also can be done from my Tupperware Site) and you become qualified before Aug 28th, you would earn the Tupperware Pressure Cooker for $30 and the Freeze It Set for $20.  If I have 3 who qualify, I will have a drawing for a Gift Certificate for $30!

Questions?  Let me know.

Thanks Ziplock, there are still things that the Tupperware folks can benefit from here too!

College Cooking Care Package Giveaway

Earlier last week I had given you a checklist of sorts to get your child(ren) started on (ok your) packing up to either go back to school or go to college for the first time.  If you missed it, you can catch it here.  At the time I also told you that I would be doing a giveaway to help with some of that list.

I think that every college kid either has or has access to a microwave in their dorm or apartment.  They may not have a stove or burner, but a microwave seems to be standard - like the mini refrigerator.  And I haven't met a college kid that didn't find the need for a meal in their room as opposed to going to the dining hall.

Sometimes its because they are just so busy studying (or is it cramming) for a test that they can't take the time or they don't like the menu for the day.  And sometimes its that they just don't want to get up (early for breakfast) or don't want to be trudging across campus.

So how about this ...
a breakfast maker for all kinds of breakfast dishes.
You can view one of them here

a pasta maker (bet those raman noodles, the old standby, would work in this too!)
and a soup mug that can also make a mock Egg McMuffin with whatever meat you want to include.  I will give directions ...
AND to keep your child hydrated with all the walking he or she will be doing I will include a Large Eco Water Bottle ...

Since I'm sponsoring and shipping, this is open to US readers only (sorry everyone).

Ready for School Lunches?

I remember when I went to school (ok it was something like 100 years ago but still) or even when my kids went to school, making lunches was always a challenge.  My kids were always complaining about having a messy lunch, no matter what I did sandwiches ended up "smashed/smooshed/messy".  But being on the bus and then in their lockers ....... they never seemed to remotely look like they did when I packed them in the morning.

I mean this would be the "best" they would look like.

And I know that sometimes they were unrecognizable by the time they got to the lunch room.

I really wish that I had had these Sandwich Keepers from Tupperware!

All those sandwiches, even PB&J, would have looked so much more appetizing.  Think about Egg Salad or Tuna Salad sandwiches in plastic bags or paper, there would be more filling outside the sandwich than in.  These sandwich keepers would make for better sandwiches just because the filling is INSIDE the sandwich!  And look at all the things you could pack in them to make them the envy of the lunch crowd!

And if you have some older kids that still want to take their lunch to school ... and they like salads of all kinds.  Tupperware even has the piece for that as well.  And mom, these are pretty cool for you too.

Comes with its own knife and fork and separate dressing cup....

Even better than these, although at the time - this was a great solution for all kinds of things, even salad.

Now we also have the Bite on the Go
that also comes with its own spoon, for fruit salads, yogurt 'n fruit, jello salad - possibilities are endless.

And shhhh I know something else that will be coming soon ... but here's a sneak peak
I can see these as the new bento boxes for the lunch set .... I know I will be grabbing a set of these for myself.

Remember any Tupperware that you see here can be seen in more detail and purchase on my Tupperware Site.  You can shop or browse anytime, 'cause my shop is always open!

No regrets please

This is a very powerful message because EVERYONE makes mistakes, some more than others, but mistakes are made by everyone. If you know of someone that NEVER makes mistakes .. I want you to introduce them to me - I've never met someone like that.

Anyway, this is your message to learn from your mistakes and move forward not to wallow in those mistakes.

Ok so we admit that we made a mistake, learn from that mistake and move on.
Got it?
Me too!

Getting your College Kids Ready for (Back to) School?

I know when my kids were getting ready for College they were excited about going away. They were ready (or so they thought) for the independence that "going away" would bring them.  I think most kids feel that way.  Yes they love their family but they really want to go away and be on their own.

That is until it is about to happen, and then they are wondering (and mom I know you are too) whether they really are prepared.  Do they have what they need for living away from home for more than a week or two.
Here is a good "starting point" list of things that you need to live "comfortably" away from home.
