You have the chance to become what YOU can be PROUD of.

Cherry Crisp

I think this one just looks delicious but you could probably swap out the cherries with some of the other frozen fruit if you aren't a fan of cherries.

Cherry Crisp

Ingredients:
  • 12 oz frozen cherries
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon Vanilla Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (old fashioned not instant)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Instructions:
Pretty easy too.

  • Toss frozen cherries with cornstarch and place in the inverted 3/4 qt Casserole/Cover of the Stack Cooker
  • In a small bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, oats and brown sugar.
  • Cut butter into the mixture to create a crumbly texture.
  • Pour over cherries
  • If making by itself, microwave for 8-10 minutes.
  • If making as part of a StackCooker meal, stack and microwave on high for 15-20 minutes.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.  Warm is best.

I am betting you could add some chopped nuts or coconut before microwaving or stir in toffee pieces or chocolate chips after it has rested.

And of course top with ice cream or whipped cream to just put it over the top.

As always, my Tupperware Store/Site is always open.  Come see what new is happening there.

Caramel Cream Cheese Dip

mmmm its that time of year when everything you can make into a dip is worth looking at. Don't you agree?  I mean there are holiday parties/get-togethers and all those football games!  Finger foods at its best!

Caramel Cream Cheese Dip

I can see using the Tupperware Power Chef System or the Quick Chef Pro to combine all the ingredients instead of dragging out the food processor or mixer.  One of the things I love about these Tupperware pieces - easy to use, not super heavy or awkward, no electricity needed .... oh and kids love to help when you are using them.

Remember my Tupperware Site is always open for you to peruse or purchase.  If you need something you can hop on over or share with your friends and family if they need something.

Negative vs Positive in your life

I think this one is a perfect way to explain to our kids why they need to remain positive, no matter how bad things seem to be to them.

Now I'm not saying that just because you think positive thoughts, that nothing will ever be negative in your life.  That's just not realistic.

Besides, without a little negative and bad things happening from time to time we don't learn how to rise above it.  We don't learn just what it means to have compassion to really have good, positive things in our lives because it is unknown (the negative things).

Lets set up our kids to live with the positive and to stop all the negative thoughts and feelings so that they can have more positive things in their lives.

The more positive we are, the more positive things and people gravitate towards us ... leading to more positive things and people.

Faith is a Bridge

I Love this.
Sometimes people question why they accept something that they can't see.
I think that is a "usual" question to Christians by Atheists when they ask how you (or anyone) can believe in God.
He is not "around", He can't be seen or felt or make His presence known to them.  I disagree with that as I KNOW He is here all around me all the time, but that is my personal belief.

If you tell them that you have Faith that God is here, now and every day and has a plan for me.  I've heard it asked ... so then what is Faith.

And I KNOW it will be an awesome place!

Spinach and Roasted Red Pepper Dip

I love seeing things like this that are great for those football day "noshies" and can also be used for cocktails with friends.

Spinach and Roasted Red Pepper Dip

I love finding recipes that work with my Tupperware products.  Yes some are from Tupperware themselves, and others are adapted from others, and yet others are "created" from Tupperware consultants (like me).

If you ever want any Tupperware products that are mentioned in my recipe posts, you can shop online at my Tupperware Site and grab what you like.  If you would like to do a party - online or book or both - just message me and we can get you started.

I love that we are always coming up with new products - like the UltraPro pieces that can be used in the microwave AND the oven (or tandem cook using both)!

Enjoy.

Be kind to all you meet

Sometimes you meet or see people and all you want to do is go up to them and slap them ... and tell them to stop it.  Be honest, you know sometimes it does happen.

I am here to tell you that those are the people that you need to be the kindest to.  Here's why.

You may not know it, but your neighbor or co-worker or even a friend could be battling something that they are hiding, hiding from you and the world.  Maybe it is some kind of addiction.  Maybe it is a medical condition like depression.  None of these are things that they can just "turn off" or "shake off".  They can't just "suck it up".  They are all real and need your understanding.

I know it is not always going to be easy, but I am going to try.
Will you?

Pumpkin Latte

Yes it is that time of year when Pumpkin everything is around.
Good thing I like Pumpkin.
How about you?

This one just looks like a winner and keeps me out of Starbucks!

Yes a Pumpkin Latte

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together the first 4 ingredients in the 3 Qt Casserole of the Stack Cooker.
  2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes.
  3. Add heavy cream to base of the Power Chef with Whipping Attachment.
  4. Turn handle until stiff peaks form.  Doesn't take too long.
  5. Whisk the whipped cream into the hot milk mixture to combine
  6. Ladle into cups
  7. Enjoy!
Now of course you  could top these with extra whipped cream for an extra decedent drink. But you know I wouldn't do something like that .... nope not me.
Ok maybe me.

Hope you will try this one and let me know how you like it.

Don't have the Power Chef or the Whipping Attachment?  As always, you can pick up these and so much more on my Tupperware Site.

Have a question about anything, give me a shout.

In the blink of an eye

I try not to hold a grudge.
Mostly I think, I have been able to just let it go.  No it hasn't been easy.  Sometimes you can easily say - nope not worth the trouble, other times, well it does take a little work.

But I try to always let those I love know it, each and every day.  It may sound corny or strange, but I always end my conversation with loved ones saying "I love you".

I know that they know I love them.  I know that they love me, but I never want to take the chance that it won't be the last thing I remind them of.

Too many things have happened that no one ever expected.  And no I am not being a dooms day sayer.  I'm just not going to ever let someone I love not hear it .... one last time.

Besides, I really like to remind them that I love them - makes me feel good too.

How about you?

Beer Bread

Here's another really easy recipe that just sounds like a winner for anyone.  Well anyone that likes bread ... and everyone likes bread right?

Beer Bread
Ingredients:

Instructions:

I love my UltraPro pans for all kinds of things. This recipe just makes for another reason to love it.  I usually use the square pan for small meals or brownies .. now we can use it for bread too.

Don't have an UltraPro pan?  You can check them all out, and so much more, on my Tupperware Site.    You just might be surprised at all the "new" things that Tupperware has to offer.

What is Failure Really

So many of our young people really don't know what it is like to fail.  I know you read that and said "wait a minute, lots of kids fail, you don't know what you are talking about".

I beg to disagree.

We live in a world now where "no one can fail".  Everything the kids participate in requires an award, so no one feels "bad" about not winning.  That leads to more and more young adults feel that they are owed something because they "showed up", not because they "earned it".

If you are continually rewarded for "showing up" and "just participating" how do you really know that you have succeeded? What's the benefit to succeeding?  Why would you want to work hard or try harder to be better if you can never fail and in essence get the same "rewards" as someone that is just there?

Now I am not saying that when you fail, you should be victimized or berated because you didn't have the success that you wanted or that others expected of you.

But what I am saying is that without failure, you can't or won't have that "fire within" that will lead to success.
There won't be any need to apply yourself to anything because everyone is the same.

I know understand that the psychologists say that we need to make kids feel "better about themselves" by giving them trophies or awards even when they don't win, because we don't want to harm their psyche ... so to not make them feel bad about failing, we reward them with a trophy or ribbon or whatever.

But what about the kids that really do excel at something or seem to show a talent, whether it is school or sports or art or music?
Aren't we going to harm their psyche by not allowing them to shine (have/award their success) because they worked hard or are just different?
Thank you David Avocado Wolfe for reminding us the Success is just Failure turned Inside Out!

Do you agree?
Or do you think I am totally off base, that I don't know what I am talking about?

Fruit Infuser Sports Water Bottle

I received the Fruit Infusion Sports Water Bottle from Fruitissimo to facilitate my review.  No compensation was received to provide my honest opinion.

The Fruitissimo Fruit Infuser Sports Water Bottle came with what appears to be a larger fruit basket that fits nicely inside the water bottle.  You can get quite a bit of fruit inside the tube, which would increase the fruit juice infusion.

I also liked the fact that the bottle, although plastic was BPA free, which is a concern so this is another bonus.

I tried a number of fruits and fruit combinations, but the one I like the most was kiwi strawberry.  I'm thinking it is because they are both more "water" heavy the favor seemed to be stronger.

The water bottle came with a free file of water infusion "recipes" that I also used to experiment.  The recipes made a large amount of flavored water, so it was perfect to keep in the refrigerator in a pitcher where you can fill your Infuser bottle with some more fruit for a fresh hit of flavor.

There is enough room between the bottom of the fruit tube and the bottom of the bottle to add some small ice cubes or crushed ice.
What I did find though was that when I added the ice, the fruit tube always seemed to "move" to one side so it wasn't centered in the bottle.

I also like the flip top that snaps closed, just in case you have a little "oops" when you put it down.

My daughter has already asked if she can take it back to school with her to keep her water intake up.  She said she's getting tired of "plain" water and this would be great to take to the dining hall to fill in the morning before classes and then keep filling during class breaks.

Product was received from Fruitissimo as part of the Tomoso review program in exchange for my honest opinion.  Read more on our review policy in our Media Kit

What do you do with your Spaghetti Keeper?

I love those folks that look at something and think yes I bet that it would be great for that BUT it would also be great for .....

I know I'm not explaining it really well, but I love the DIYers that can come up with a use for everything - even if it isn't what it was originally intended for.

Like this one.
I like the Tupperware Spaghetti Dispenser.  It makes my pound or two of spaghetti or angel hair pasta "safe" so I don't end up with pasta all over the cabinet.  But to be honest, I haven't thought much about what else to use it for.  But some brilliant people have - and came up with some great ideas like these.

Now as you can see, its not just for "food stuff"  I like the buttons and other craft supplies or match sticks!  Put the seal on these babies and they will be water tight ... so your matches will never get wet and then be useless.

You can get 1 spaghetti dispenser on my Tupperware website for $9, but if you go to a party, or message me to get in on a current open party, you could get not 1 but 2 for the $12 shown here, plus (s&h&t).

Can you think of another use for the Spaghetti dispenser not listed here?

I know you could use these for teacher gifts that everyone used Mason Jars for ... until they were dropped on the way to school ... no worries about breakage with these.

Potatoes for an AWESOME breakfast or brunch

I know that not everyone likes to have potatoes for breakfast. Personally I love hashbrowns, as does my daughter, hubby not so much.  I think it just adds something special to a breakfast.  Maybe its because it means its not a grab and go or inhale your breakfast before you fly out the door kind of breakfast.

This recipe uses the Tupperware Master Shredder/Grater and can be adapted to your tastes, but would also be pretty tasty just the way it is.

The ingredients and instructions are really simple so I bet everyone could make these this weekend .... if you already had the Tupperware Shredder/Grater!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Large Potatoes, cooked
  • 6 Eggs

Instructions:
  • Grate Cooled, Cooked potatoes in the Master Shredder/Grater using the coarse cone, while the oven is preheating to 400 degrees.
  • Divide the potatoes into 6 muffin cups and lightly spray with a cooking spray and cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until browned.
  • Once browned, crack an egg into each cup and cook for 5-10 minutes depending on your desired doneness of egg
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Done, lets eat.  See I told you super simple and makes breakfast look special.  And of course with it being so simple, you can dress it up any way you want.
I think this would make a wonderful breakfast just the way it is, but you can easily change it up without making it complicated.
How about adding some fresh grated cheese either to the potatoes themselves or on top of the egg?
Or add some grated cooked ham or cooked/chopped bacon to the cup before adding the egg?

So tell me, would you like this for your breakfast this weekend?
Would you make as is or add some "additional" ingredients?
What would you add?

I'm really glad I have the Tupperware Master Shredder/Grater.  If you want your own, check it out on my Tupperware Site.

My female Financial Role Model

A little more than a week ago I was contacted by someone from Personal Capital who asked if I could let her, and you, know about my female Financial Role Model.  As an accountant, yes that really is my "real life job", I thought it was a no brainer and I just had to do it.

That was until I started to really think about it and then write.

Growing up, I think some of the most influential people in your life are your parents, especially your mother.  My mother was no exception. We still laugh to this day about how she would get her weekly $50 food allowance.  And knowing my mom and dad, she really did get that allowance, and learned to make it work.  She proved it could be done.

I remember vividly that Sunday mornings were church and then as dinner was in the oven, it was the supermarket flyer and coupon search to make sure she had her coupons for the weekly supermarket trip.  Yes I learned how to maximize those coupons to make shopping "fun" from her. Ok maybe not fun but perhaps you could call it the "shopping game". Some weeks you won and some weeks you were dipping into "savings".

Mom always made what she called the "easy" decisions.  Which brand of toothpaste or bread or jelly to buy based on the sales and coupons that she had.  And trust me she had lots of coupons - in a shoe box, by category, by amount, by expiration date.  It was a great week when there was money left over in the "kitty" for the oops weeks.

But when it came to the "hard" decisions, she would always default to my father.  She never really learned about investments and retirement savings.  Oh she knew how to save but not the kind of savings you needed for retirement.

My dad may have shown me how to save for retirement or long term savings or how to do income taxes, but it was my mom that encouraged me to "learn" how to do these things.  She always told me that I needed to be more like my father in those things so that I could take care of her in her later years.

I remember in the early 80s, when I was looking for my first "real" job, my grandmother was listening to what jobs I was saying I could do and the salaries that went with it.  She almost ran into my mom and said "Do you hear her?  Don't you think you should discourage her so she isn't disappointed?"  My mom, bless her, looked at her and said "don't, she is her father's daughter and can do anything she sets her mind to."

What I really learned from my mom was 1) I will not be defined only by my gender when it comes to my abilities and 2) learn how to be self sufficient financially and then teach others to do the same.  Just because you are a woman, does not mean that you can't determine your own destiny and prepare for the future and your retirement.

Do you know how much you would need to put away to retire how you want to retire? Personal Capital has a great tool to help you figure out what you will need to invest in your own 401K or some kind of retirement plan.  The tool is 100% FREE (and we love free) to anyone in the United States. You can sign up without linking all your personal accounts/information to see what you need to start doing or change, to be ready for retirement.  You can go to their site and check out their  retirement planner to see if you are going in the right direction or if you need to make a change. This one looks like a good tool to help in managing your finances for retirement.

What I did, whenever it was available, I would join a retirement plan at work and put in as much as I possibly could.  I also made sure to remind my son when he was filling out all his papers for his full time job, to sign up immediately for their 401K.  If you start right away, somehow it doesn't hurt as much, and you don't miss it when a small amount comes out of your check each time, but it adds up quickly.

Remember the money you put in many retirement plans are not taxed until you start to draw on them. That is unless you put money into a Roth plan which is taxed now and not when you start to draw on them. You need to talk to a financial advisor or tax person to see if you qualify for a Roth investment, but know that they are out there as well.

If my employer matched any of my "deposits"  I made darn sure that I made deposits of at least that much.  What I mean is, if the plan called for a "match" of everything I put away each year, up to $1,000, I made sure that I made a minimum investment of $1,000 into my retirement account. It's free money!
DO NOT leave that on the table so to speak. They are not going to put it into your current paycheck to spend, but it will be in your account for your future retirement.

As you go further in your career and get raises or when you change jobs don't be spending all the increases in your income. I'm not saying to not spend anything.  What I am saying is make sure that you save some of those increases so that there is something available for the future.

For example, if you get a $1,000 annual increase, you can spend half of it or $500 and save the other half. Put that "half" into your retirement by increasing your retirement deduction or put into a "future" account.  This account is not something that you will think about or even count on for your expenses.  This is for the future.

Check out Personal Capital and see how your current plan for retirement and savings stacks up to what you need for the future.  I did and am happy to say, I am right on track for my retirement.  My retirement may be sooner than yours but we all start with a plan.  So get your plan going today, not tomorrow, so that your future will be secure.

Oh and make sure that you have beneficiaries listed for ALL of your accounts (don't forget your life insurance) and that they are the ones you want each year.  If you have an "ex" make sure he or she is NOT the beneficiary or you will be gifting to them what you have saved so hard for.

So tell me ... who is YOUR female financial role model?

Confidence is ....

I think that sometimes people think the wrong things when you say that you have confidence in yourself.

I don't know if it is because we don't know what confidence is, or that if we try to embrace our confidence it will make people think differently about us.  And differently not in a good way.

I think this is the perfect explanation for what Confidence is and what it is not.
NOT comparing ourselves to others makes us stronger.
NOT comparing ourselves to others allows us to believe that we CAN make a difference.

I wish you the confidence to face each day and make a difference without making others feel like you think you are better than they are.

My wish and prayer for you today

I saw this one and just had to share, especially today.

With so much anger and outrage and social "unrest" of late, not saying it isn't justified, when I saw this one I just knew it had to be my wish for you this morning.

Maybe this is just what we need.
Instead of looking for the worst in people,  if we look for the best, we just might find it.

Whether you believe in the same God as I do or not, I wish that you never lose faith in your God.  If faith is lost, we are doomed.

What do you think?  Was this not perfect for a Sunday morning?  Or any day.

Thank you SocialMeems for reminding us of what is important.

Tupperware Mid October 2015

This morning Tupperware released their Mid October brochure that offers so many wonderful things.  You can purchase any of these items on my Tupperware website until November 13th (except the only at a party exclusive and the slim line set that is only available until Oct 30th).  Want that At a Party deal?  Message me and we can place the order for you on an existing order I have ... always a way around it, well almost aways.

I really love the Tuppertoy Build N Play Train and the TupperCanoe that I showed you here.

If you are starting to think about things to get for ready for the holidays and you are at a loss for what to do for your kid's teachers .... check out the TuperElf or Hanukkah canister sets. For $18 you get 4 canisters in a 2 cup size, that you could put candies or cookies or even gift cards in.  Then when the insides are gone, they have something to remember your child year after year after year.  But you know its not just for teachers, it could be for neighbors or your mailman or DHL or FedEx person!

Now until October 23rd you can also pick up some awesome pink pieces that are pretty sweet!  I love these pieces (yes I have them all).  The Ultra Pro Square is fantastic for brownies or bars or small dinners.  I used mine the other day for a roasted chicken in the oven.  Yes these are the pieces that can be used in the oven or the microwave!

And those snack-stor containers are great for keeping those brownies fresh.  Stack up now for the holidays!

And don't forget until October 30th you can add the deals found in the October all month brochure that I showed you here

If you would like to join the team, I had someone come up to me last night at a vendor event (he was a vendor from another company) that want to join us because it sounds so good, you can message me and we can share the benefits and get you signed up or you can sign up by going to my page and click on Join Us.

Tupper Toys In the Mid October Brochure!

When I saw some of the things that are available in this mid month brochure I was like "shut the front door, the back door the barn door" as Cheryl at Tupperware headquarters would say.  I just LOVE when they bring back some of the vintage Tupperware Toys.  So this month is definitely the bomb for Toys!!!

A few months ago, some of you may have been lucky enough to pick up the Tupper Boat (or Canoe as it was called then).  I heard that someone thought it was so cute they turned the bottom of it (the red base of the boat) into a banana split "dish" and had the top and sailors as table decorations!  Such a cute idea.

Now I can't remember ever seeing the Tupper Train before, but I have to tell you it is so cute, and I am so happy to see this one. I can see little kids pulling this one around, taking it apart and putting it back together again.

You don't want to miss out if you have little kids in your household or family because this month you can get BOTH the boat and the train.  Just in time for the holidays!

Check them out, and so much more that is available starting today on my Tupperware Site.

Make you own Master Baking Mix

I love all the recipes you can make in a flash with Tupperware products, but I also love that there are fantastic storage options.

How many times have you wanted to make you own cake mix or pancake mix or waffle mix so that you can control how much salt or sugar or preservatives are in them or just to save money since some of them are really expensive but thought you didn't have anything to store it in?

Well enter Tupperware's Modular Mates, with a size for everything!

I love this one.  You can make your own Master mix to make pancakes or waffles or even breakfast muffins.

You could make this more of a whole wheat mix by swapping some of the white flour with a whole wheat flour.  I wouldn't swap it 100% but you can experiment with it and find the blend you like the best.

Check out my Tupperware Site for all your storage solutions and Easy Cooking Options.

Be Good Enough for Yourself

I grabbed this one from the Mankind Project and think it is so very appropriate for today and every day.

I can't remember if I shared this one before from Joy of Mom, I think I did, but here is the same thought different picture.

Sometimes I find that people need to see the sentiment a few times, in a few different ways, before it sinks in and they realize that it is their problem not yours.

Keep being yourself.
So long as you are good enough for YOU,
then that is all you need to worry about.

Honey Garlic Chicken and Veggies Quick

I have had my Tupperware Pressure Cooker for the Microwave for about a year now and I have to say I am loving it more and more every day.
I really like that you can make things that would normally take an hour or more in 30 minutes or less!  Yes 30 minutes or less.  And because you use your microwave, you don't have to "baby sit" the pot and they have all kinds of safety features so you can set it and feel good about using it.

Honey Garlic Chicken and Vegetables.

I think that this would be a great recipe for the fall.  All kinds of wonderful root veggies cooked with chicken just calls out to be warmth and comfort.

Ingredients:
Instructions:

  • Put chicken into the base of the pressure cooker.  Do not pack into base.
  • Add vegetables on top of chicken.
  • Mix together the liquid ingredients, broth through ketchup, to make a "smooth" mix. Stir in the herbs and pour over the chicken and vegetables, making sure the chicken, and at least some of the veggies are covered with the liquid mixture.
  • Seal pressure cooker and microwave for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from microwave and allow the pressure to release naturally (usually about 10 minutes).

I haven't made this recipe, yet.  But I have heard that you can swap out the bone in chicken thighs for chicken breasts (I would use boneless), which for me is more like it or you can do a combo of both.

Just remember that the pressure cooker works by creating steam inside the cooker.  If you don't have enough liquid there will be no steam and what is inside will burn.

Don't have the Tupperware Pressure Cooker? Check it out on my Tupperware Website, where you can find the Pressure Cooker and so much more.  You can even browse and shop in your PJs!

Stop letting people or things hold you back

Sometimes I think we hang on to something or someone because we are afraid of what will happen.  We know that something needs to change.  But its just that we are afraid of being alone or of the unknown.

What you really need to realize, and yes I tell myself this all the time, is that if you are going to move forward and get to where you are supposed to be in this life (and just maybe the next) you need to let go of those things that are holding you back.

You just have to believe and take that "leap of faith" so that you can be where you should be.

And then, as Snoopy and Mr Schultz, so eloquently put it ...
Everyone needs a hug and the thought that Things WILL get better.

Pumpkin Zucchini Bread

Another thing that I love about the Fall Season is all the pumpkin recipes that you can find.

This one sounds wonderful ... Pumpkin Zucchini Bread!

Ingredients:
Instructions:

This really sounds 1) tasty and 2) super easy to make.  Just make sure you use pumpkin NOT pumpkin pie mix.  And I bet it smells amazing as it bakes.

Oh and I get to "play" with my new favorite the Grater Shredder.  I love it for cheeses and I have a friend that has used it for carrots for carrot cake.  I am betting you could use it for "hiding" carrots and other veggies in all kinds of things.  I could see grating veggies and putting it into meatloaf and no one would be the wiser!  Not that I have tried this or anything ... nope not me.

The UltraPro is an awesome piece of cookware/bakeware that can be used in the oven, or in the microwave, or both.  You can use it as a tandem cooking option - start in the microwave and then finish in the oven.

If you try this one (and I will be this week for sure) share with us.  If you want the UltraPro or the Master Grater/Shredder or anything else Tupperware, I hope you will check out my Tupperware site.

Questions?  Just ask and I will answer or get you an answer ASAP!

Stress VS Passion

Something to think about - working hard is called  ...

No matter which "option" you choose, it will require hard work.
Personally I would rather work hard with something that I have a passion for instead of dealing with the stress that working hard at something that I don't care about or even worse hate, will bring.

How about you?
Do you have something that you do that brings you Passion?
Or are you like so many now that only have Stress?

If all you have is Stress ... are you ready to make a change?
If so, think about what your passion is.  Think about how you could make that passion into a "job".  Then go out and make it happen.

If you are going to be working hard no matter which you choose, I'd rather be working hard at a job that fuels my passion.

I think I would be happier.
What about you?

Caramel Apple Cookies

These are just super easy and just perfect for this time of year!  Now this is super easy because you start with the refrigerator cookie dough, but you could make your own sugar cookies and just take them to the next level with this recipe.
