Good Hearts

Just in case you have forgotten,

It is great to have a beautiful "outside".
I love using makeup to "hide" my outer flaws and "play up" my better features.

But if you forget that "Beauty", true beauty, starts/shines from within, you will never truly be a Beauty!

Your Own Song

All too often, we do or say what others are doing or saying just to "fit in".

I will tell you now, that sometimes that does work.
But most of the time you end up losing yourself.

Let's just keep singing our own song to show our own UNIQUE self.
I bet in many ways, it will make you much happier than "just" fitting in.

Now being "unique" does not mean setting out to hurt someone because you want to "be yourself".
It does mean that you are allowed to shine in your own space without being hateful or mean.

Please ... let me hear YOUR song!

Do you know what June is?

Other than my anniversary month that is ...

Yes it is also my mom and dad's anniversary (#61 this year), but that still isn't what I am talking about.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

If you have a teenager, or if you have what has in many "worlds" been called the teenage curse, you may know that June is Acne Awareness month.

Now I have had 2 teenagers, one boy and one girl, so I've seen it from both sides, as well as having had my own bouts with the teenage curse in my adult years, but even I did not realize that June was Acne Awareness month.

That is until I joined LimeLight by Alcone and started seeing the blog posts by Madison at LimeLight by Alcone Life.  Granted the post I am sharing is already a year old, but that doesn't minimize the great information that you can find here.

I am in love with LimeLight's skincare products.
It was probably the second reason I joined the LimeLight by Alcone team, first being the awesome foundation, but that's another story.

I love that the skincare products are leaping bunny certified,

and has ingredients that are good for your skin and not full of chemicals.

Interested in seeing more?
Jump on over to my LimeLight by Alcone site and look around.
Have any questions, feel free to give me a shout.

Focus, Capture and Develop

I wanted to share this one with everyone.
Sometimes we forget that we shouldn't be stuck in a situation that is not working for us.  Or is not the best situation for us.

With Graduation season going on .. perhaps it is something to share with our young folks too.

Banana Pecan Bread ... in the Microwave!

I love my Stack Cooker because I can make so many things quick in the microwave that really does taste good ... Some really great things can be made, from 1 item to a whole meal!  And of course things like this.

Banana Pecan Cake/Bread.

Yield: 8
Serving Size: 1 slice

Ingredients
  • 1½ cups pecans
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 stick (16 tbsp.) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat (2%) milk
  • ¼ tsp. kosher salt
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions
  1. Grease and flour the Stack Cooker 3-Qt. Casserole with Cone Insert.
  2. In the base of the Power Chef® System fitted with blade attachment, add pecans.
  3. Cover and pull cord until roughly chopped.
  4. Transfer pecans to medium bowl, set aside.
  5. Add bananas, heavy cream, and cinnamon to Power Chef
  6. Cover and pull cord until bananas are minced and mixture is well blended.
  7. Transfer bananas to bowl with pecans; set aside.
  8. Replace Power Chef blade attachment with paddle attachment.
  9.  Add butter and sugar, cover and pull cord until well blended.
  10. Add eggs, vanilla, milk, salt, and baking soda. Cover and pull cord until well blended.
  11. Transfer to bowl with bananas; fold in flour.
  12. Transfer mixture to TupperWave® Stack Cooker
  13. Microwave on high power 7 minutes 30 seconds.
  14. Remove from microwave.
  15. Let stand 2 minutes before slicing.

Yes, banana's are good for you but some (like my hubby) don't like bananas ... however this way is AOK.
Check it out - light on the flour (considering it is for 8 servings) so I bet most everyone can enjoy this.

Thanks Tupperware for another great recipe to make on a regular basis.

Now to add some extra banana's to my shopping list this week.
How about you?

You are worth more than you can imagine

So many times we forget what we are worth or why we are here.
We downplay or down right underestimate our own self worth.

Don't Do It!

I know there are some who definitely feel that way about me.
And no I'm not patting myself on the back.

But I also know that there are many who complete my life and, to be honest, I'd be lost without them.

Do you have negative people in your life?

I know we all have those "down" moments in our day or week.
Sometimes these down moments seem to drag on for weeks so that when you look back your realize you have been feeling dragged down for months.

I'm not talking about being depressed.
That could be a serious medical condition that requires medical intervention.  If you are depressed, seek medical advice / help so that you will be able to look forward to each sunrise.  I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for that help.

I'm talking about that feeling that occurs when someone is always telling you that there is something wrong with you or your life or what you do.

I'm sure you know what I'm talking about (if not, I applaud you). Those are the negative people in your life that need to either change their ways or leave your life.

You will be so much better for it.

Let's start this week STRONG

How are you going to be starting your week?

I think we need to set our goals to have something to focus our energy on.
Sometimes we get so set in our ways, or bogged down by what others think or say about us, or what agendas that they have, that we forget that we are pretty important ourselves.

Speaking of being Pretty...especially this time of year as our young people are getting ready to move on to the next grade or graduate middle school, high school or college, let's pass this on to them too....
We seem to get so worried
about being PRETTY .....

Let's add these "pretties" to our "must be" objectives.

Pretty kind.
Pretty Funny.
Pretty Smart.
Pretty Strong.

It's a new Tupperware Month!

That's right, it is the "middle" of a month so its a new Mid-Month brochure from Tupperware that is opening today on my Tupperware Site.

Strong vs Weak

I posted this on my Instagram feed last week,
but I think it needs to be shared here as well.

I think EVERYONE needs to see this and start a dialog with their circles.
That could be your kids or grandkids.
It could be your close friends when someone new comes into your sphere of influence.

Too many believe that if they shout and verbally abuse others that they are the strong ones or that those that stay quiet or don't shout from the rooftops are the weak ones.

There are many times that those who are quiet, those who are seen as "weak" or "geeky" are the ones that will change the world, for the better.

Think about it.

I wish I knew who had created this picture so that I could give them some kudos for a job well done.

How Far will YOU Go?

I guess this is going to be my mantra.

I need to branch out and stretch my limits.
I need to take some risks.
I need to be breaking out of my comfort zone, you know what I mean, so that I can find out just how far I can go.
Just how much I can do.

What about you?
Are you willing to risk leaving YOUR comfort zone to see just what you CAN accomplish?
Shall we chance it together?

Look for more, as I start my risk journey.
I invite you to
Come with me.

3 ways to fail

I share this because
1)  I have been seeing this happen way too often, especially of late.
2)  It almost seems to be the "norm" with the popular in our society, as if NOTHING could ever be their fault.
3)  It's time, past time, to take responsibility for our actions and realize that WE are the ones who need to GROW from OUR mistakes, OUR short-comings and be better for it.

What do you think?
Is this spot on?

How to live an Adventurous Life

I've seen this in a cute little shop that I just can't seem to get out of my head.

I guess it was something that was calling to me at just the right time.

Hopefully it will call to you as well.

Living an Adventurous Life
Does not Mean
Climbing Mountains
Swimming with Sharks
or even Jumping off Cliffs.

Living an Adventurous Life
Means Risking Yourself
by Leaving a Little
Piece of YOU
Behind in all those
You meet along the way.

Lets spread all the good that is inside YOU

That way we can all live
the life we want and need.

So that others can feel
the Adventurous Life
for themselves.

Say YES this month!

I was away this weekend so I didn't get to see this until last night.
I just had to share it with you.

What do you think would make me sooooo excited about getting folks who are interested to join Tupperware this month?

I saw this one and just about fell off the chair .... yes it was that good!

Yes the Sorbet Maker (not just the attachment) if the SAY YES offer for the "selling" month of June.  That means it started SATURDAY morning and goes through June 30th!!!

Oh and if you join before Friday Night, June 2nd it is FREE when you join!
Say WHAT????
Yes if you join my team before Friday June 2nd it is FREE ... but if you join on June 3rd or before June 30th there is a small co-pay but still a great deal.

Want it to be even better?
Have 1 standard party (that would be $500) or purchase samples or things for your personal use .. and all of that totals $500 BEFORE June 30th you get all the great attachments for a small co-pay.

That means with just a little work from you, during the month of June, you could end up with over $300 in additional Tupperware products for $30 (or $50 if you wait until June 3rd)!  Pretty sweet right?

If you have forgotten, or haven't seen what is in the Tupperware Starter Kit ... here is the current picture.

I use so many pieces of Tupperware in my home, that I am the Tupperware Queen.  We, many times, buy large bottles and containers of things we use all the time at the big warehouse outlets and put them into Tupperware pieces for ease of use every day.

Interested?
Have questions?
Give me a shout or jump on over to my Tupperware site and click on the "Join my Team" tab on the left side.

Let's see if this can make Saturdays from now on
Inspirational Saturday.

I would love for you to wander around my blog and share something that inspires you today.

Maybe you could also share something that makes you inspired to make each day, each week better than the day or week before.

See I told you
YOU are capable of great things.

Now believe it,
make it happen.

A Ketogenic Diet friendly Salad

Have you started working on or looking into a Ketogenic Diet?
Have you thought about working this into your diet plans because so many of your friends are trying it?  Did you know that the ketogenic diet has been around since the 1920s?

If you are trying to eat keto friendly, check out this delicious looking (and soon to be trying by me) from a Facebook friend Leah Mayne.

All that is needed is sauteed shrimp, 2 to 3 avocados and some sliced/diced red onion, tossed with about a tablespoon of olive oil and vinegar.

I think some white balsamic vinegar would be awesome with this - not the normal "bite" of a balsamic vinegar, but a wonderful flavor that wouldn't overpower these salad ingredients.

This is so simple to make, I think everyone should be making it at least once a week.

I personally think this just looks awesome, but then I LOVE everything that is in it.
I just have to get my hubby interesting in at least "trying" avocados, or this will just be a lunch item for me.

What do you think?
Is this a winner?

I just started doing a keto style diet with the help of  Pruvit's KETO/OS system.

I'm waiting on some samples now.  If you would like to try a 5 or 10 day sample, message me.
Right now I think I can only do US folks, but I will dig deeper on this too.

Are you setting yourself up?

Sometimes I think we set ourselves up to fail.
We keep trying to be "better".

We start the day with the mindset that we have to be better.
But better than what?  Better than who?

But we do seem to set ourselves up to fail, daily.
Not on purpose mind you, but we seem to have this mindset that says we just can't.
I don't know if it is something that we bring upon ourselves or if it is something that we are taught.
We really should keep Marilyn Monroe in mind as we start each day.

See even Marilyn knew that you don't fail at everything.
You just need to keep trying and keep moving
but most of all
BELIEVE in YOURSELF.

Its National What Day?

I guess I have been living under a rock.
SHHH you, I can see you rolling your eyes and mumbling.

I have NOT been so oblivious to what is going on to realize that EVERY day is a National "something" Day.

But early this morning I was watching the news and John Elliott @CBSNewYork mentioned a few things that were to be celebrated this day, and I was really just a little surprised at some of the day's "somethings" and how they may or may not be related.

For instance.
Today, according to NationalDayCalendar.com, is National Sea Monkey Day. Who knew that Sea Monkeys had their own day??

And what the heck is a Sea Monkey anyway that they get their own special day?

John Elliott said you get a twofer if you pierce a sea monkey today, because today is also National Piercing Day ... I guess he wasn't thinking of all the other "somethings" for today because,

it is also National Love a Tree Day.
Is this what spurned the Tree Huggers or those Plant a Tree movements?

But my favorite "something" for today is

National Mimosa Day.
When I looked, I was surprised to see how many different ways there is to making a Mimosa.  Here I thought it was just orange juice and Champagne.  Oh no my friends, there are many different combinations/flavors so long as there is a "base" of orange juice and champagne ... you can get creative with "additives" and flavored "splashes" to suit the day.

This of course got me thinking what the heck were other "something" days and were they related or unrelated things.

For instance, this past Sunday May 14th was Mother's Day.  But did you know it was also National Dance like a Chicken day?  So is this the day that the Chicken Dance came to be or was it the day that spawned the saying "Dance like no ones watching"?

My daughter's birthday is National Animal Cracker Day.  Too bad she was never a fan.  I guess I had her on the wrong day.
But it is also National Columnist Day, I wonder if they are fans of Animal Crackers?

My son's birthday is National Re-Gifting Day and National Date Nut Bread Day.  He is probably a fan of a re-gifting day for all those things I have bought him that I "thought" he wanted but missed the mark.
I'm not sure Date Nut Bread would go anywhere with him.
But then since he moved South he does partake in things he would never touch when he lived up "North".

Now Hubby's birthday is full of tasty National Days.  He gets to celebrate National California Strawberry Day AND National French Bread Day.
Now that just doesn't seem fair.

So now that I am on a roll ... my birthday has a few "interesting" items, like National Name Your Car Day or National Fried Scallops Day.
Have you named your car?
I know years ago my sister did. She named it after a character in Cats.
I wonder if she still does?  I will have to ask her.

So tell me, what is the National "What" Day on your birthday?

Lets try Spinach, Blueberries and Pineapples in a salad

What?  You're not a fan of Spinach?  Or Pecans aren't your thing?Oh I am thinking you could "play" with this one to add some other ingredients to make it more "palatable".  For those who are not big fans of Spinach (like my hubby), I think you could add some Romaine to this so its not "just" spinach without losing the benefits of this salad.  Don't have or like pecans?  You could substitute walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 9-oz. bag spinach
  • 1 lime, juiced using Zest ’N Press® Gadget
  • 2–3 tbsp. balsamic glaze (store bought or make your own)
  • 1 shallot, chopped fine using Chop ’N Prep Chef
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, diced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 cup pecans, toasted
  • ¼ cup crumbled goat cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss spinach with lime juice, balsamic glaze, and shallot. Once leaves are coated, transfer to desired serving dish.
  2. Top with remaining ingredients to serve.

It's a new Mid Month Tupperware Brochure

I am hoping that you have already checked out the Tupperware Summer Catalog that went live just about 2 weeks ago.  Or the Birthday Month items that will be available until May 26th. If you haven't you can check it out on my Tupperware Website.

But the new Mid Month brochure is also live to celebrate Father's Day and all the great things that Summertime brings.

I personally LOVE the Large Carry-All for so many things.  I have a few just to keep things together. I have one in the car as a "mobile" desk and one as a portable first aid kit.  I know of some who have used these as memory boxes for their kids and grandkids.
Or how about for those super important papers that you need to be able to grab and go when in an emergency situation?

And then there is the Season-Serve Duo.   I have used the small one just yesterday for marinating dinner since it was just a small amount of meat.  But I can see these for all kinds of BBQ items.  I have to try this, but someone said you can put some corn on the cob in the large one with butter and "shake" so that all the corn is evenly covered without the mess.

As always there is the Short-term items that you need to pick up in the first 2 weeks ... or they will be gone.  Some of these items (like the ice cream scoop) are available in the Summer Catalog .... but at a higher price.  So if you are interested, don't miss out.

I love the Squeeze-it Bottles, because it allows me to have "manageable" containers for home-made sauces and dressings but also to be able to buy those LARGE catsup and mayo jars and bring them down to size.

And those Dining Trays ... make great trays for kids or even for BBQs on the deck!

Have a question?  Just give me a shout.
Want to check out these pieces and more?
You can jump on over to my Tupperware Site.
Join my team or place an order or talk to me about adding a party of your own to earn lots of FREE stuff.

Key Lime Pie Cinnamon Roll Buns

You may have seen on my Facebook page, that I was recently "forced" to replace my kitchen appliances.  In fact it was the trifecta of replacements.
Two of those pieces I replaced, the refrigerator and stove, were GE products.
I am enjoying them both and have gotten the added benefit of getting all kinds of great recipes when I registered my appliances.

Here is one that will be awesome for Mother's Day brunch.

Bake-Off is a registered trademark of General Mills ©2007

Thanks GE and Liz Castle for this awesome idea.
Want more?  Check it out on the GE website.

Time for Positive Thoughts and Deeds

I think it is time for me to get back to my original reason for starting this blog.
It's time, if not past time, for more and more inspirational posts instead of big gaps in time when I may be holding myself back for a number of reasons.
Self doubt is a big part, although not the only reason, I have some "gaps" in my blog of late.

Perhaps you have been feeling the same way.
Or maybe you use to stop back here when you were having those feelings yourself to see what good things I had to show you.

Maybe this will help us all.
I almost said "both" but I am hoping that there are more than just two of us reading my blog.
I am hoping that my own lapses haven't pushed away too many folks.

I am starting this month, ok this "mid" month, with a push towards being positive.  Being ready to accomplish those things that I have been letting lapse or have pushed to the wayside.

Maybe its because its Spring and I am looking forward Summer and new beginnings.  Or maybe it is because of all the negative that is being shown on TV, on the internet and in the papers.
When did we all become so jaded, so self-centered, so entitled?

Yes it is time for
Positive thoughts,
Positive deeds,
Positive actions
for all of US.

Believe in YOURSELF

Time for a little encouragement ....
and maybe a kick in the pants

If you still need a little more of a push  ....

Don't worry about whether others believe in you or not.
The only one that needs to believe in you is YOU.

If others also believe in you ... well that is a bonus.
Just remember the important person in this belief is YOU.

I know its not an easy thing to do.  Trust me when I tell you I have suffered for many many years worrying about what others think.  I wasn't this way when I was younger.  If fact, I think I was, at times, overly confident in my abilities - but somehow didn't fail myself or others.
I just didn't always realize it.

Then something happened.  I'm not sure what it was, but at some point in my "adult" life, I've let others tell me that I can and can't do.  It's time for that to change too.  Time to believe in ME.

So you see, I posted this as much for you as for me.

Let's believe together.

Yes Yes its the Mid April Brochure at Tupperware

I know I haven't been really active here (or really anywhere, except in front of a tax form) but I had to do another quick post to tell you that the Mid April Brochure is open TODAY on my Tupperware site!
And there really are some great things in this one.

Some awesome things are on the short term piece as well. Personally I LOVE the Lunch it Containers to make your own Bento Box type meal on the go!  And you get 4, that's right 4 at this price!!

If you are into protein shakes the Quick Shake Container BOGO is perfect for you.  Its also great for mixing up eggs for scrambled eggs, or salad dressing and marinades.  OH OH and I forgot, salad in a jar is so much safer this way ... works awesome!

I already have a few of these babies or I would be grabbing this one - its a steal!

The Power Chef Premium System is a hostess bonus this month, but you can also get it from the regular catalog, if you are not interested in being a host.  However, if you are thinking about it, we can do it as a book/FB party if you want.  We just need to have some items entered as if they went to a party.  So if you are interested ... message me and we can chat.
Oh and the mega bowl collection .. yeah that's ONLY for a hostess, but it really is da bomb for Summer dining.

The items below are available all month (you know until the next mid month brochure happens) but you really want to think about Summer and Cinco De Mayo that will be coming soon, sooner than we think.  These are great for Summer and all kinds of Celebrations.

The Goody Box Set it pretty sweet, especially if you want something for a group lunch at the park.
A few of these and you could easily transport your family picnic in a picnic basket or  cooler and everyone could have their own without leaving any "extras" behind or having a lot of trash to find a place to dispose of.
As easy as it goes to the park, it will come home and then you can pop it into the dishwasher ready for the next trip.

Oh and those ice cube trays .....

These things are the bomb!
I have some just to make coffee cubes for iced coffee this summer.  Or leftover tea for iced tea this coming season.
How about freezing some fresh fruit for flavored water bottles?  Might just help with your water intake too.

I also have used them for freezing fresh herbs before they go bad ... and then I can just pop out 1 or 2 without having to figure out what to do with the rest.  And with the seal top, I don't need to worry about the transfer of flavors or "smells".

You can even make your own baby food (the power chef and smart steamer is great for that) and then you can freeze it in your tray and have fresh food for you precious little one and know exactly what you are feeding them.  No more jars for them.

Like I said, there are so many great things in this mid month brochure.  So it these have sparked you interest, check out my Tupperware Site for these and of course the regular Catalog.
