Maxine on things to say
I really love Maxine, just in case you haven't figure this out already. She just comes up with some of the best things ........... the stuff we all want to say but because we have to be PC (oh wait I already apologized because I'm not PC) we don't say it. As you can see - I don't have that problem. I just let it all go. It took me many years to be able to do that ..... but now

ThredUP - a place to buy & sell kids clothes
I really wish this was around when my kids were small. I know how much I spent on kids clothes and toys and since mine were the "oldest" of the group - we were always buying new things and then being the one to do the "hand me down" thing ........ but we never got to be the "hand me down " receiver!
This looks like a fantastic way to always be able to be both the hand me down "er" and the hand me down "ee"
Brother in Texas

My brother-in-law is a pilot in the air force, and he has served for the past eight years.
Four years ago he was transferred to a base in Texas where he has served as a flight instructor for the past two years. He teaches new pilots how to fly smaller jets.
My husband is his brother, and both my husband and I are extremely proud of him. There is tremendous honor in serving our country in the capacity that he does. He works long hours, and I know he and his family have made many sacrifices as a part of the military lifestyle.
They do like being stationed in Texas. I think they like the community in which they live, and they bought a house three years ago. He recently switched his home to fixed-rate energy by looking into TXU Energy information from Texas Electricity Provider, and he has saved some money on his energy bills for the year. One good thing about living in a military community is that the real estate market does not dip as bad as in other places during hard times because there are always people moving in and out. Our home has dropped in value quite a bit, but my brother-in-law and his wife have not had the same experience. The transient nature of the military has kept housing prices fairly stable around the base.

Theme Party
I had the privilege to review the Theme Party Planning Checklist from Sandee Lembke, who has become to be known as the theme party queen.
If you are having a kids party this is the best "guide" for making sure you have everything covered BEFORE the big day.

NO PARENT LEFT BEHIND.....
These are real notes written by parents in the Memphis school district. Spellings have been left intact...... After I finished reading these, and laughing till my sides hurt, I realized that these parents badly need to take some online grammar and spelling classes. When your finished, leave me a comment, especially if you think these classes are sorely needed!
1. My son is under a doctor's care and should not take PE today. Please execute him.
2. Please exkuce lisa for being absent she was sick and i had her shot.
3. Dear school: please ecsc's john being absent on jan. 28, 29,30, 31, 32 and also 33.
4. Please excuse gloria from jim today. She is administrating.
5. Please excuse roland from p.e. for a few days. Yesterday he fell out of a tree and misplaced his hip.
6. John has been absent because he had two teeth taken out of his face.
7. Carlos was absent yesterday because he was playing football. He was hurt in the growing part.
8. Megan could not come to school today because she has been bothered by very close veins.
9. Chris will not be in school cus he has an acre in his side.
10. Please excuse ray Friday from school. He has very loose vowels.
11. Please excuse Lesli from being absent yesterday. She had diahre dyrea direathe the shits.
12. Please excuse tommy for being absent yesterday. He had diarrhea, and his boots leak.
13. Irving was absent yesterday because he missed his bust.
14. Please excuse jimmy for being. It was his father's fault.
15. I kept Billie home because she had to go Christmas shopping because i don't know what size she wear.
16. Please excuse jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday. We thought it was Sunday.
17. Sally won't be in school a week from Friday. We have to attend her funeral.
18. My daughter was absent yesterday because she was tired. She spent a weekend with the marines.
19. Please excuse Jason for being absent yesterday. He had a cold and could not breed well.
20. Please excuse mary for being absent yesterday. She was in bed with gramps.
21. Gloria was absent yesterday as she was having a gangover.
22. Please excuse brenda. She has been sick and under the doctor.
23. Maryann was absent December 11-16, because she had a fever,sorethroat, headache and upset stomach. Her sister was also sick, fever an sore throat, her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasn't the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night.
Now we know why parents are screaming for better education for our kids.
I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face .... So much for the No Child Left Behind ... we need to work on some of the Parents too.
Ok OK I know I'm going to take a hit for this one ... but really it sure does show how far our education has "fallen" over the years. No wonder our country is far down on the list of "well educated" citizens.
