Happy Chinese New Year
I just want to share a very Happy New Year with my friends who are celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Just as January 1st has special meaning and celebrated each year, the Chinese New Year has special meanings and is celebrated globally as well. Unlike the January 1st New Years, Chinese New Years celebration goes on for an extended period of time.
This year it goes on until Feb 11th ending with the Lantern Festival.
Each new year brings a new symbol, this year is the Year of the Rooster. But there are actually 5 different types of Roosters, Fire, Wood, Earth, Gold and Water, each with their own identifying characteristics.
This year is the Year of the Fire Rooster.
Fire Roosters are known for being trustworthy, punctual and responsible (especially at work).
On the whole, Roosters are active, amusing, popular, healthy, outspoken, honest, loyal, talkative and charming.
They are also known to enjoy the spotlight - but can be vain and boastful, so we must carefully when we chose our words.
I am a Rooster, a Fire Rooster.
How about you?
Do you know what your Chinese birth year was?
Here is a chart to help you figure it out.

Medical Romance Box Set Review
I had received Medical Romance, Her Doctor Three Book Box Set by Grace Devon, as a gift to "broaden" my reading authors, as some thought I was "stuck in a rut". I thought it might be an interesting read because I like to read almost all genres and honestly hadn't read much in the romance genre in awhile.
Overall this is a good 3 short story book collection with common themes and characters.
You quickly meet up with the characters in book 1, Her Chief Resident that continue into books 2 and 3.
You can read each of the books in this series without having read the other books, but they do have a nice flow together and you see how the characters have grown/changed from book to book, although each book has its own character focus.
There were some spelling and grammar errors in each of the books in the set and at times, and at times I wondered if it had originally been written with the characters in "different sexes" as some pronouns were "mixed" .. his for her, he for she, I was able to keep with the story flow. Perhaps it needed a second beta read (I am assuming there was one) or a more diligent editing group.
All of this aside, it was a good quick enjoyable read. I was able to overlook these blips and read these books as it was meant to be read. It also made me realize that doctors go through a lot more than just seeing patients and that they really are "people" with real emotions. I know this is easy to overlook when you are seeing them professionally (I know as this past year was full of visits to different doctors/specialists) unless you are also friends with or have family members in the medical field.
Because it was a collection of short stories, there were some very quick story line movement from start to finish that could have been flushed out more had they been intended as individual novels instead of short stories, yes you can get each separately as shown above.
With this "change" in showing the lives and events of the doctors and patients of Baily Mills Hospital, it could have been made into a great read, not just a good read with just a little more of those details.
I would recommend this (or these individually) to most readers. If you are a lover of the romance genre or an "older" young adult reader, as there is some sexual content, this would be a good quick read for your kindle.

Welcome to Monday
Happy Monday!
I can't believe it has been a full week since I posted anything here but suffice it to say it has been an "interesting" week for me. Now if we can have less "events" like last week I will be a happy (happier) camper.
I have seen this quite a bit, and think that I should have this posted on my refrigerator as a reminder to start each week knowing that "I got this". I will be putting it on my refrigerator and perhaps on my wall at work.
Oh and because I've got this ...
I want to try and lend a hand to someone every day.
It may just be a smile, to make them feel better or give them a little ray of sunshine so that they too can smile.
Since smiles don't cost a thing, you can lend a smile to many people during the day....giving one away doesn't mean you are without - it just spreads the circle.
How about you? Want to try this with me?
Lets try it and see what happens.
It is still January so, although its not the 1st of the year and not the time for starting a "resolution", there is still a lot of time left in this year to make a difference.

2nd Annual #JeepersIt'sJanuary Giveaway Hop
It's that time ... Welcome to 2017
AND
my first giveaway of the year!!
my first giveaway of the year!!
Hosted by
and
This hop starts today and runs through January 31st.
I hope you will be checking out everyone's post
and getting your entries in!
With all the participating bloggers,
I'm sure there will be some awesome prizes
available for everyone.
I'm sure there will be some awesome prizes
available for everyone.
There is no specific theme for prizes in this hop,
but since it is January and Winter and Cold
(and snowy if you live anyplace like me),
I thought it would be perfect to introduce you
to some wonderful new skin care products that,
until recently
only
Makeup Artists and Stars could get.
LimeLight by Alcone is a fabulous company that has, in my opinion, some awesome professional makeup and skin care products.
During this time of year, we need to take care of our skin. The wind and cold can cause some real damage to our skin, whether we think we have sensitive skin or not.
My prize for this hop is a LimeLight by Alcone Moisturizer.
Either of which have a retail value of $26
If you have Normal to Sensitive Skin you would select Calm Balm.
A light moisturizer, made up of soothing aloe, cucumber, and a combination of restorative plant extracts, that hydrates and calms your skin cells and is recommended for easily irritated skin.
If you have Normal to Dry or Mature Skin, you would select Skin Therapist.
or
A rich moisturizer packed with hydrating ingredients that drench your skin with essential vitamins and minerals. It will immediately replenish moisture and visibly restore dry, aged, and inflamed skin cells.
I really like both of these formulas, so I use both pretty much interchangeably depending on how my skin feels. I will say I usually use Calm Balm, but if I feel really dry and "itchy", or if I have been outside for an extended period of time, I use Skin Therapist.
I am liking these products, as well as the rest of the professional makeup and skin care, that I recently became a consultant.
If you would like more info, or to see what else LimeLight by Alcone has to offer, please jump on over to my LimeLight site. There is a fountain of information available, or just give me a shout and we can chat.
As a recent consultant, the prize for this hop is being sponsored by me.
The hosts of this hop, nor the rest of the bloggers participating, are responsible for any sponsor who does not fulfill the prize.
But I am sure that each blogger would try to help you get your prize should there be a problem (although that rarely happens in my experience).

I hope to be sending YOU an email
congratulating you on your win.

TravelSafer Digital Tire Pressure Gauge #tiregauge #tirepressuregauge
I don't know about you but I use to HATE checking the air in my tires. It was always a chore with those old tire gauges, that never seemed to really work correctly. Well at least not for me.
So when I was asked to check out this product, I was all for it.
This time of year, yes snow and cold are very hard on tire pressure,
it is especially important to make sure your tires are properly inflated and the cold always seems to make the air mysteriously disappear from your tires.
I sometimes think the winter cold is even harder on your tires than the summer heat, but that could just be because I'm not a fan of the cold, just like tires.
Keeping your tires properly inflated helps make them last longer, or at least to the stated mile life, helps keep your ride comfortable and safer as well as keeping your fuel efficiency at its best.
It really is super easy to use. It isn't one of those thin, cold metal rods that always seem to "slip off" the tire stem or not seat properly so you end up letting out more air. I like that it has a "comfortable" feel to it, not bulky or heavy.
It can even be used at night. You can easily find the tire stem and check your pressure with its illuminated nozzle and LED readout. Although I really hope you never need to do that.
It is also easy to read, again unlike some of those old stick gauges. There is no little "notches" to read on those extending sticks that were always so easy to miss or move so you didn't know if you really had the correct pressure reading.
It doesn't matter what type of measurement you use; psi, bar, KPa or Kg/cm2; this tire pressure gauge can handle it.
The TravelSafer Digital Tire Pressure Gauge is very affordable and easy to use for everyone.
I am really glad that I got to test out this product. As a matter of fact, when we did our test, the tire pressure in the front wheel read 19! I thought the gauge was wrong, or we had done the test wrong. But we did it again and it was still 19 so away we went to the local gas station to have it checked out. Our mechanic was a bit surprised and glad that we had checked it because it was truly 19 psi just as the TravelSafer Digital Tire Pressure Gauge said.
During the winter, as the temperature drops, the tire pressure can drop to a dangerous level that will drastically increase the risk of a serious accident.
It will definitely be used during this winter season and many more to come. No more surprises or low tire pressure alerts for my car tires!
Get yours today so that you or your loved ones won't be a statistic this winter.
I received this product for free or at a discount from GetaLife Sales in exchange for my honest opinion. It was used to aid in my review, however the opinions expressed here are my own.
