It's Monday

The start of most people's work week.
A day that many people really dislike, it serves as a reminder that the weekend is over.
It's a reminder that, for many the ho-hum of the week is starting ...

Well lets try this one as our new belief about a Monday

Time for a change?

I know there are times in our lives that require us to make a choice.
And that those choices will or could have some drastic changes to our lives.
But sometimes it is required to take a stand for what you believe in or to stand up for yourself.

Sometimes those choices are the most difficult because it means changing everything we have become comfortable with.
Sometimes it is because have become so focused on the people in our lives or the problems that we have or think that we have, that we forget that we do have quite a bit to be joyful for.

I have decided, I know its a bit late for a resolution, that 2019 will be my year for change.
I will eliminate the negative in my life, one way or the other and focus more on my joys and finding more.

That could very definitely leave me quite alone, and with quite a bit of "free" time on my hands.
Both of which are just a bit scary for me because it could become a very drastic change to my life and my belief in myself.

But hey, that could also mean I have a lot more time to spend writing or reading or blogging, so you could be seeing much more of me here.  I know scary, right?

How about you?
Are you ready to make some serious choices in your life?

Those three bones and a Change

Two of the most important things we need to be sharing with our kids/young "folk".

This one, I can't tell you how many times I have "fallen back on" one of these 3 bones and to be honest, I am not sure which have been used the most.
Although sometimes that funny bone gets a ton of work out, especially when you keep saying to yourself ... you just can't make this stuff up.

But to go along with these bones, you much remember this.

Sometimes, no matter what we do or say or wish, there is only one way that you can thrive in your life.  Only on way to make your life the way YOU want it to be.
You must accept this one ... and then have the backbone to make it happen.

Yes there are some habits that we should get rid of

I know that there are many many habits that we try to make part of our lives.
Then there are others, that we should be stopping because they are just not good for us.
And no they aren't just things like over eating or smoking or drinking too much.

They include things like this that can shorten our enjoyment of life.
And we ALL need to be finding enjoyment in our lives.

Now I believe it takes 21 days of doing something every day to make it a habit.
Let's start today, working on this list, and scratching them off our list of "daily habits" so that by the end of the month we will have eliminated these "habits" from our lives.

I'm in ... how about you?

Loaded Baked Potato Soup Quick!

It's definitely "soup season" around here and probably in most of North America.
I don't know if I have shared this one before or not, but I was looking for something to do with leftover mashed potatoes ... yes I kind of "over did it" when I was peeling potatoes the other day.

This one looks pretty good - though I may have to dice up a few small potatoes (and boil or microwave) while making this one for a bit more texture.

Yield: 4
Serving Size: 1 ½ cups
Ingredients
  • 4 cups (leftover) mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • ½ cup sour cream, divided
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar, divided
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked, crumbled, divided
  • ½ cup cooked chopped broccoli florets, divided
Instructions
  1. In the base of the 1¾-Qt./1.75 L TupperWave® Stack Cooker Casserole, stir together leftover potatoes and vegetable stock.
  2. Cover and microwave on high power 3 minutes, or until heated through.
  3. Divide soup between four bowls.
  4. Top each bowl of soup with 2 tbsp. of the sour cream, ¼ cup of the Cheddar; sprinkle with crumbled bacon, and broccoli florets.

I really love my Stack Cooker.  I can make 3 different pieces of a meal, in the microwave .... Meatloaf, chicken, soups, desserts, soooo many tasty things.
Check it out on my Tupperware Site, where we are always open when you are ready to look or buy.

Even when you think you can't find that reason to laugh ...

I had to share this with you so that you WILL laugh EVERYDAY.
THIS is an awesome list of reasons!

How about you?
Will you now find a reason every day?

Hugs

I guess I am a hugger.
I hadn't really given it any serious thought.
It's just part of who I am.
And not just with family.
Unless friends, longtime friends, count as family.

What about you?
Are you a "hugger"?
Are you more of a touchy-feely kind of a person or more of a stand-offish person?
Do you react differently depending on who you are with?

Became a butterfly

Sometimes we just want to hide.
Sometimes things are just so difficult on us that we don't think there is anywhere we can go to be better, to feel better.
We just want to curl up and forget there is an outside world.
Just like the little caterpillar.

It is ok to feel this way sometimes.
It is ok to take time for yourself from time to time.

We just need to use that time to broaden our outlook and to emerge better than we were before without forgetting where we came from.......
So we can
Spread our wings and fly!

Be Nice even if you dislike someone

I wish it wasn't so, but there are some people that you just dislike and there is nothing you can do to change that fact.

It's not because of something specific that you or they have done or haven't done.  Its just because you are you and they are who they are.

Don't let this dislike color your thinking of who you are or what you want to do.  Stop letting it hold you back.  And yes, it is holding you back.

BE that Bigger person, you know that one that sometimes goes hiding inside you.

Besides, being nice is much easier on YOU.

Martin Luther King Jr.

It's Martin Luther King Jr. Day today.
Unfortunately I don't believe that many today know who he was and what he stood for.  For many its "just another day off".

It is a day to think about what he stood for and why we celebrate his life today.
He was an American Civil Rights activist who advocated for change in a non-violent way.

He was a great man.
Not a great black man
a great MAN.

It has been said that through adversity our true character is born out.  I believe that statements like these showed just how deep he was.  He was not a fighter in the physical sense, but his mind and his statements show the true warrior that he was.

His teachings were so prophetic.
We need to be reminding what he has left us.

I will leave you with what I believe was one of the most telling of his quotes.
That even after all these many years, we still haven't learned this one very important fact.

Let us strive to learn this lesson and to start putting it into practice so that we can live in peace.
Let's make this year, the year that we make a difference.

Thoughts to help you live your life

I saw this on Facebook (I know but sometimes you can find interesting things there) and thought it was good enough to keep and to share.
I'm thinking that I should put this in a few places so that I can see it, review it each month (maybe even each week) so I don't forget these gems of wisdom.

It was originally Shared by Lifter UK.
It was Written/Spoken by Regina Brett  who was 90 years old when she shared this … so she’s been around the block a time or two.

1) Life isn’t Fair, but it is STILL GOOD.
2) When in Doubt, just take the NEXT SMALL STEP.
3) Life is too short to waste time HATING ANYONE.
4) Don’t take yourself too seriously, NO ONE ELSE DOES.
5) Pay off your credit card EVERY MONTH.
6) You don’t have to win every argument,
            AGREE TO DISAGREE
7) Cry WITH Someone it’s much more healing
            THAN CRYING ALONE.
8) It’s OK to get angry with God, HE CAN TAKE IT.
9) SAVE for retirement starting with
             YOUR FIRST PAYCHECK.
10) When it comes to Chocolate, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.
11) Make PEACE with YOUR PAST,
so it won’t SCREW UP the Present.
12) It’s OK to let your children SEE YOU CRY.
13) Don’t compare your life to others.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA what THEIR journey is all about.
14) If a relationship has to be a secret,
               YOU SHOULDN’T BE IN IT.
15) Everything can change in the blink of an eye.
But don’t worry; GOD NEVER BLINKS.
16) LIFE is TOO SHORT for long pity parties.
Get busy LIVING or get busy DYING.
17) You CAN get through ANYTHING if you
               STAY PUT in today!
18) A writer writes.  If YOU want to be a writer, WRITE.
19) It’s never too late to have a Happy Childhood.
But THE SECOND ONE is up to YOU and no one else.
20) When it comes to going after WHAT YOU LOVE IN LIFE,
Don’t take NO for an answer.
21) Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don’t save it for a “special” occasion.
                TODAY IS SPECIAL.
22) OVER-PREPARE.  Then go with the flow.
23) BE ECCENTRIC NOW.
Don’t wait for old age to wear PURPLE.
24) The most important sex organ … IS THE BRAIN.
25) No one is in charge of your happiness.  EXCEPT YOU.
26) Frame every so called “disaster” WITH THESE WORDS.
“IN FIVE YEARS, WILL THIS MATTER?”
27) Always CHOOSE LIFE.
28) FORGIVE everyone everything.
29) What other people think of you IS NONE of YOUR business.
30) Time heals almost everything.  GIVE TIME TIME.
31) However good or bad a situation is, IT WILL CHANGE.
32) Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick.
YOUR FRIENDS WILL.  Stay in touch.
33) Believe in MIRACLES.

Some of these I have believed in for a long time.
Some are going to be a bit harder to embrace, but I will because I do think overall she is correct.

How about you?
Join me in embracing these every day?

Think about it ... I'm going to make sure that I am doing this, reviewing this on the first of every month.
Let's start February 1st, if not before.

Let's make 2019 OUR year!

This one is perfect.
If you want to make 2019 your year (I know I want that) here is a great "road map" to follow.

Now some of these are really going to be pretty "easy".

Some of these are going to be difficult, but not impossible if you set out to do it.

And then there are going to be things that you think are completely IMPOSSIBLE.

But I am here to tell you they are not ... what you need to do is make a slight change in the "spelling" of that word ... and then it becomes I'mPossible.  Because YOU ARE.

I know I am trying because 2019 WILL be my year!
How about you?

It's a new day

... and the start of a new week.

Time for a bit of inspiration to make today and the upcoming week the best it can be.

YOU have a choice every day.
Take your pick of those offered above and make it your mantra.

Time to Make a Difference.
Time to Dream Big.
Time to Never Give Up.
Time to Do Something Good.

Or maybe it's just
Time to be Awesome
and Be YOU.

YOU get to decide.

What did you decide for today?

New Year's Resolutions

did you make one?

If not, perhaps these might give you a little nudge to make one or more that are worth your effort.

I think that each of these are worth your time and effort.
I am going to be keeping each of these in mind during 2019
and will try to keep at least 3 of the 10.
But my goal is to keep all 10!

Do your best TODAY

I know I have been guilty of this from time to time.
I get so caught up in the preparation I forget about the current day, week, month trying to make everything perfect.

So now I will keep this one in front of me all the time.
Maybe even print it out and put it in my office cube so others can be reminded too.

Happy New Year

We wanted to stop and wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

Hopefully 2019 will be the best one yet!
THIS is the best way to start 2019.

If you haven't done this yet ... TODAY is the day.  Don't let yourself get bogged down with all these nasty things from 2018.  Let's start the year off right.

Let's make 2019 OUR YEAR ... here's a great way to do it.

As for me, among other things, I will promise to try and post more this year (if its not as eventful as last year) with more inspirational posts .. pictures and quotes and all around feel good moments and more reviews and more items from Tupperware and Limelife.
