For all my US friends ...

So many beautiful pictures depicting our celebration of this day.

So many men and woman have sacrificed so that we could be free.   Because of them, we are free.  There are a long list of men and women who have given us the right to be free.  And I don't just me in the past 100 years.  It all started 239 years ago.  Wow we have been free for a long time!

So we have a lot to celebrate.  I know there will be all kinds of parties and BBQs and celebrations going on culminating with a few "fireworks".  

Even my neighbor got in the act!

Can't wait to see what else happens today.

What's a Sangarita from Woodbridge?

Now this looks like a nice Adult Beverage, especially for the summer BBQ season!

I'm thinking this might just be a new favorite for summer.

I don't know about you, but most of the time I find that the summer is just way to hot or humid to be drinking "heavy" alcohol drinks.  I could get lit really quick with those.  

Now I'm not sure if it is because it is that the alcohol is "heavy" or because it is so hot/humid you just drink them too fast and end up drinking too many.  Either way, I do try to be drinking "lighter" drinks while sitting on my deck (or someone else's).

This one looks perfect.
I do like that you can easily make 1 drink or a whole pitcher without going crazy.  

What do you think?

Angels are among us

Yes there are Angels among us.
I really love this song from Alabama.
It was one of those that "solidified" my love of them so many years ago.  Just loved those "Southern Boys".

I hope that you do believe this.

Have you heard this song from oh so long ago.  Ok maybe not Oh So long ago, but not one of the "current" hits.  What?  You haven't heard this before?  Well now you can, here

Want a Big Mac ??

Do you want a Big Mac but don't want "fast food"?
I really do like the "secret sauce" of a Big Mac, but don't like the burgers.  I know that's crazy but those those thin pressed out burgers just don't do it for me.  And I'm not really sure about the "cleanliness" of some of those highway "stops".

Now that I found this "recipe" I think I might be trying to make a Big Mac at home ... using just 1 burger (my own using my Tupperware Hamburger Press) and a "normal" roll.  

What do you think?
I mean it is Hamburger Season ... starting with the 4th of July weekend, if there really is a Hamburger Season.  We like hamburgers all year but maybe it is the "Hamburger Grilling Season" that is just starting.

Few reasons for regrets

I know there can be many things that we regret, but I think this one is the one of those things we should regret the most.

Now you know me, I am not talking about those chances that could be dangerous.  
I'm talking about those chances that could lead you to a better life. Those chances that allow you to grow in a way that you may never have thought you could.

These are the chances that we should grab with both hands and give it all we have.

If we don't ... these are the ones we will look back on with regret.
Friends don't let friends regret .... 
take that chance!

Memphis Style Dry Rub

It is BBQ season and I'm always looking forward to trying new recipes.  Especially ones that I get to make everything from scratch instead of buying pre-made.

Now there is nothing wrong with pre-made, I have made all kinds of meals with pre-made/pre-packaged items as part of the ingredients. Heck I think I was Sandra Lee before Sandra Lee was Sandra Lee. Now I really hope you know who Sandra Lee is or I will be really disappointed.

I am thinking this would be fabulous on some ribs (which I may be making soon for sure) out on the grill, but also on chicken.  I am betting there really isn't much you couldn't use this on.  Except for maybe fish since I think this would be a little too much for a delicate fish.
