Help for my "non-resolution" plans

I have my "plan" in place.  I was working on getting back on track BEFORE everyone starts making their New Year's Resolutions.  But because I am starting this on January 1st, everyone will think this is my New Year's Resolution - which we all know are usually out the window by the end of February.

So because of that and because as I said I was making these plans before January, I am calling this my "Non New Year's Resolution".

I have found some fantastic websites and some wonderful bloggers who are great sources of great recipes that will be used for this very purpose.

Some of them I know you already know about - I've talked about them before as well as looking at their "followers" numbers on their blogs ...... well lets just say I'm not the only one that likes them.

Here is a new one that I've found in the last 3 months or so that have some interesting takes on what you should be eating.  Dinner Evolution.com is really good for finding things you wanted to eat but were afraid it would really derail your progress.

I've been looking at things at this site FaveDiets.com that, as it says, is Everyday Recipes  Made Lighter.  For instance, do you like meals at Cracker Barrel Restaurants or Benihana, Red Lobster or even Wendy's?  They have some of those recipes that will fit into most diets or could be your "treat of the week" without going overboard.

And there are my "old standby" blogs to check out like Lynns Kitchen Adventures, Gina's Skinny Recipes, and TJ's Test Kitchen.

And don't forget those magazine type cookbooks I shared with you before.  Yes I know that 2012 Is going to be MY year.

iPad2 Giveaway you just MUST enter

One of my blogger friends, Terri at TerrisLittleHaven  is part of an awesome giveaway for an iPad2 - 16GB WiFi 9.7 inch screen PLUS , an iTunes card and an awesome (and really pretty) iPad 2 Case from MacMommy Boutique.

I just knew I had to pass this one on to all my readers.  I know I entered - I mean come on who doesn't want an iPad2?  My daughter would absolutely LOVE this one to go back to classes with.  She has some heavy classes next semester (I can't believe some of the ones she picked!) considering she is trying to transfer in the Fall, and this would be great to have instead of lugging a laptop with the books she is going to have to carry.

I promise, I will post some of the really awesome giveaways that I find through out the year, whether I enter it or not, you know I may already have the items in the giveaway and I just don't have the room to too many duplicates.   

National Weigh-in Day

I was going through some magazines that I had recently purchased but hadn't gotten to actually sit down and read.  You know things have been a little crazy lately - with the holidays and all the "visits" from family and friends.

I did not make a New Years resolution this year (well again this year).  Did you?  But while I was looking through some of those magazines I found out that Today is National Weigh-in Day.

I have to get my weight back under control.  I was doing really well - even surprised myself.  Then 2011 hit, along with the "serious" start of menopause (but of course I will NOT admit to getting old), and I'm in serious trouble.  I have been thinking seriously about what happened and what didn't.

2012 is my year!

It will be my year to get back in control.

My year to feel better about where I am

And it WILL be my year to get back down to my goal weight.

In honor of this day, there are many companies that are recognizing this special day like the Kellogg Company at The Special K brand marks January 2 - National Weigh-in Day.  The Woman's Day Community is holding a 12 in '12 Challenge AND National Weigh-In is January 2nd to help you get on track with making changes for 2012.

I will be working on this for all of 2012.  I have a brand new scale (Weight Watchers Scale by Conair), a new set of DVD's (10 Minute Solution - Dance your body Thin) to go with my Leslie Sansone Walking DVD's, a journal to record my thoughts and feelings as well as my exercise and diet every day and a resolve to take back my life.  I may even start a new "series" of posts to keep everyone updated as to my progress, and then maybe others can update us on their progress as well. 

See I have been thinking about this and decided long before the holidays that THIS is going to be MY YEAR

Guidelines for Reviews

1. Reviews are free of charge in exchange for products to review. Please be advised that sample sizes are generally not sufficient to give a proper review. 
2. Product must be shipped at sponsor's expense and will not be returned
3. Reviews are generally posted  2-3 weeks after receiving the product. This gives adequate time for test/reviewing and posting.
4. A link to the social media outlets of the company will be placed in the blog post with the review, if provided by sponsor. 
5. Reviews are 100% honest.  They will be my opinion based on my review.  Any negative remarks/comments will be discussed with the sponsor prior to any post.
6. Giveaways are optional, but are encouraged for even larger exposure.
