Happy 81st Birthday Dad

Today is the birthday of someone who is very special to me.
 It's my daddy's birthday.
His 81st birthday!

That's right I said 81st ........ just think of all the wonderful (and not so wonderful) things he has seen in his lifetime.  Here are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head.

He looks pretty darned good for 81 don't you think?  I do.
Mom's not bad looking either (her birthday is coming up soon)

The Polaroid camera was invented

Ray Kroc opened the first McDonald's
Disneyland was opened in California
Alan Shepard became first man in space, John Glenn orbited Space, and Neil Armstrong walked on the moon

Roosevelt was elected President for 4 terms
Kennedy became the first Catholic President
Ronald Regan (yes an actor) became President
Obama became the first Black President

Some things he has seen in his lifetime are things that we take for granted.
He use to get his entertainment from a radio that was in the living room.
And then was one of the "special" kids who had a TV IN the house.
The microwave oven (where would we be without one?)
DVD and Blu-Ray Players

Some amazing things have happened in this lifetime for my Dad   What a wonderful list of things I can come up with.

Oh and lots and lots and lots of candles on a birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Dad!
Sure wish were were there to celebrate with you.

Coke Chicken

I found this recipe on a friends Facebook page to be made in a Bean Pot, I think it would make another great and quick meal for the Tupperware Stack Cooker.  I'm going to be trying this one during the week.

Ingredients:

3 or 4 large chicken breasts Fresh or Frozen and thawed
1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can of Coke

Slice Chicken into large pieces and put the pieces into the 3 qt casserole of the Stack Cooker.
Cover with soup then Coke. Put the cover on the casserole and microwave for 15-20 minutes.  Let rest, with cover on for 5 minutes.

The gravy is great over the chicken and a "starchy" side, like rice or noodles.

Tupperware Rice Cooker would make a great side to go with this dish and the gravy!

The Day your Life Really Begins

Sometimes, when we are feeling like nothing is going right ......
When whatever we do, is just not right for some people,
because they always find the "wrong" in anything we do ....

It is time to live YOUR life YOURSELF

It's time to take control of YOUR life, the good, the bad AND the ugly.

Let's face it .... It's YOUR life!

Mom's Favorite Sayings

I just saw this one and just had to share.  It really made me laugh because ... well I think I have used each and every one of these at least once while my kids were growing up.

How about you?  Or are you counting?
HA HA, you know we have all said these at least once if you have kids or are responsible for young kids (I'm thinking babysitters/nannies/daycare workers).

Which step?

Today is Wednesday.

You have had a few days to get this week "under control" and move forward.

Tell me, which step are you on today?
Are you half way there?  Are you at the "how" or the "I'll try" stage of the week?

Or have you already gotten to the Yes I did it step?
If so you are VERY lucky because it's just mid-week.

What else are you going to accomplish this week?

I'm trying to get things moving forward with my Tupperware  program.
If you are interested in anything Tupperware (and there are LOTS of exciting things going on here, as well as some great sales and products) you can always check me out at Kat's Tupperware Page.  You can check out product, place orders. make your own online party, have me set up your own online party (safest way) or get info for a "book party" that I can handle for you.

United We Stand

and remember the horror of that day.

But as we remember, we also know that we must go on so that, no matter how much we lost, THEY have not won.  THEY will NEVER win, unless we allow them to - unless we allow our fear and heartache to freeze us at that horrible moment 11 years ago.

But we must honor their memories and continue forward.  Remembering this day, does not freeze us in time, it honor's their memory.  But we must continue being and becoming the person we were meant to be, because THAT is what they would have wanted us to do..

They will NEVER be Forgotten.
God Bless their memory,
God Bless the USA

If you would like to see prior posts for this memorable day,
you can start with last years post done for the 10th anniversary of that fateful day.

I AM going to Succeed

I saw this the other day on my cousin's facebook page (I do seem to find lots of things there that I like) and just wanted to share with all of you because ... well we all need to have some positive message in our life from time to time.

Sometimes we seem to forget why we do some of the things that we do.  Sometimes we think we know what we are doing and then we start shaking our heads (or doubting in our hearts) that we have a clue as to what we are doing and we start thinking we are crazy for trying it.

THIS is perfect for those days.   Because lets face it - we are all crazy at times and there are LOTS and LOTS of people who have succeeded - its only right that we be one of them!
