I know there are many of us, yes me included, that run on coffee. I do take a break a few times during the year, but I use to kid that coffee runs through my veins, especially during tax season. I find at times like then that I am a "chain coffee drinker", or so it seems. And, Yes we do love coffee, so its not just that we need it, but we love the flavor, the texture, the taste. And making coffee in a French Press with a good ground coffee makes that experience even better.
When I was asked to try this product, I was all for it. Yes I have a one cup coffee maker, and I do still have it on my counter ... but this is perfect for those times when we want to savor a cup or two. Before I even made my first cup, I really liked the way it looked. It had a sexy look.
And of course it seemed to fit perfectly in my hand. I can definitely see using this for when company comes to visit. I can just see their eye light up when it comes on a pretty tray with breakfast. They will realize that they truly are welcome in your home, that is, if they had any doubt.
Even the box gives you everything you need to have a great first experience.
Everything except the coffee that is.
From the first try, this press made great coffee, but as with anything, your taste may want to use more or less coffee. Or make your ground coffee a bit coarser, depending on whether you have a dark roast or a medium roast.
It can be a bit of a trial and error, but even the "errors" have a good flavor and texture. If you have a favorite brand of whole bean coffee, this would be perfect for you. But remember, you don't need to actually grind your own beans, almost everywhere you can get whole beans, you can have them grind them to your specifications. Here was my first experience.
But trust me when I tell you, there have been and will be many more uses. Yes this was a definite win for me when I was asked to review this product. I don’t know about you, but I love looking at pictures of
models and actors and seeing their beautiful smiles. I really do envy them their beautiful white
teeth. Ok yes, if we are going to be
honest here, that is just one of the things I envy. But to be honest, I don’t have the money to
have caps put on all my teeth and professional teeth whitening is equally
expensive, so when I was asked if I wanted to test out a tooth whitening
product from Smile Br!lliant, I was all for it.
And then to make it an even better or sweeter deal, my
daughter and I got to try this product together! We got to check it out and see if there was
any difference between “older teeth” with 4 crowns, that would be mine and “younger teeth” that had also been through quite a few years of orthodontic work, that was Jenn’s. Now this product is not for young children who's teeth are still developing, I believe they say for no one under
18, but since neither of us fall under that criteria, we were both good to go. What I really liked about this product was that each whitening kit is made to order. You make your impressions so that your trays are made for you and your teeth, not a “one size fits all” set of trays. Doing your impressions was really very easy.
As you can see from the picture, you receive 3 sets of
impression materials, just in case you do make a mistake, but seriously the
hardest part was making sure that you mix the two impression materials (1 black/gray
(catalyst) labeled and 1 blue (base) labeled container into a consistent
mix. And even that wasn't very difficult, especially if you have ever played with clay or play doh.
It’s then very easy to take your
impression by putting the materials into the dark blue trays and placing they up and around your teeth. Once completed you send the forms back to Smile Brilliant labs to make your personal
whitening trays in a prepaid envelop.
When our trays came back, the first thing that came to mind
when I saw them, after I saw how “interesting” our bite and teeth sizes where,
was that they reminded me of what I thought those invisible braces look
like. Because they are made for your
teeth, they are very comfortable to wear. As you can see, your teeth fit into their own place in the tray like a second skin. Each tooth has it’s own “sleeve” so to speak covering both the
front and back of the tooth.
I was very happy that I didn’t feel like I had a huge piece of plastic on my top and bottom
teeth. I could close my mouth completely
without wanting to gag.
Doing your whitening is a breeze. With the custom-made trays, there was no
problem with placement of the whitening materials like with those whitening
strips. Every time you do the whitening,
the gel comes in contact with your teeth completely, no gaps, no tooth too big
or too small. Even those “paint on”
style whitening products always seemed to leave too much room for error, or
missing application spots.
The whitening gel and the desensitizing gel come in syringe
type containers that make it a snap to set up each time. We found that the whitening gel syringe was
firmer than the desensitizing gel so you needed to be more careful pushing the
plunger on the desensitizing gel syringe so that you didn’t get too much in each tray. We found that there was enough material in
each syringe so we could use each syringe 3 times, just remember to keep the tiny "cap" after you open it the first time to keep the contents fresh.
Before we started we took “before” pictures. I have to say I was really shocked and couldn’t believe just how
“yellow” and “off color” our teeth looked.
We have well water, very hard well water so we don’t have any
of the benefits of city water, which means that if fluoride assists in any way other
than cavity prevention, we didn’t get those benefits.
The instructions are easy to understand and the actual
process again was easy. The only thing
that wasn’t spelled out, or at least we didn’t see, was how often to do the
whitening so we did not do our whitening every day as we could/should have.
Even with this miss-step, we were very happy with our
results.

I don't know about you but I use to HATE checking the air in my tires. It was always a chore with those old tire gauges, that never seemed to really work correctly. Well at least not for me. So when I was asked to check out this product, I was all for it.
This time of year, yes snow and cold are very hard on tire pressure,
it is especially important to make sure your tires are properly inflated and the cold always seems to make the air mysteriously disappear from your tires. I sometimes think the winter cold is even harder on your tires than the summer heat, but that could just be because I'm not a fan of the cold, just like tires.
Keeping your tires properly inflated helps make them last longer, or at least to the stated mile life, helps keep your ride comfortable and safer as well as keeping your fuel efficiency at its best.
It really is super easy to use. It isn't one of those thin, cold metal rods that always seem to "slip off" the tire stem or not seat properly so you end up letting out more air. I like that it has a "comfortable" feel to it, not bulky or heavy.
It can even be used at night. You can easily find the tire stem and check your pressure with its illuminated nozzle and LED readout. Although I really hope you never need to do that.
It is also easy to read, again unlike some of those old stick gauges. There is no little "notches" to read on those extending sticks that were always so easy to miss or move so you didn't know if you really had the correct pressure reading.
It doesn't matter what type of measurement you use; psi, bar, KPa or Kg/cm2; this tire pressure gauge can handle it. The TravelSafer Digital Tire Pressure Gauge is very affordable and easy to use for everyone. I am really glad that I got to test out this product. As a matter of fact, when we did our test, the tire pressure in the front wheel read 19! I thought the gauge was wrong, or we had done the test wrong. But we did it again and it was still 19 so away we went to the local gas station to have it checked out. Our mechanic was a bit surprised and glad that we had checked it because it was truly 19 psi just as the TravelSafer Digital Tire Pressure Gauge said. During the winter, as the temperature drops, the tire pressure can drop to a dangerous level that will drastically increase the risk of a serious accident. It will definitely be used during this winter season and many more to come. No more surprises or low tire pressure alerts for my car tires! I am not a big fan of "pushing the holidays" but I thought it might be cute. It was a mixture of fantasy, paranormal and romance all rolled into one. I have to say that I really did enjoy this book.
Perhaps its because I still believe in miracles and magic and the possibilities of both, especially during the Christmas season. It was a nice quick read, but not a child's story. Now there wasn't anything explicit, but there were moments where you may not want your young teen to read.
If you are looking for something to get into the holiday spirit or to make you believe that there still is magic in the world, this is perfect. I have always heard that Lavender is a wonderful scent for relaxation and was very interested in trying this one when I was asked to review this product.
I have not had a lot of experience with Essential Oils, but my thought was .... you need to start somewhere and Lavender is a good thing. I have to say the oil itself is very strongly scented. You really only need a drop or two to make a difference in the area where you put it. I had put some on a cotton ball, using the enclosed stopper and put it into a pillow in my great room. I have to say DAYS afterwards you could still smell the Lavender scent, especially when you lean on the pillow. My daughter has also used it on her cool mask. She, at times, has headaches and feels better when she wears her mask and lays down. The Lavender scent is perfect for relaxation (aromatherapy?) so she put some on her mask to try out. And yes she did like it too. The only real "problem" I see with this product is that it comes with a medicine style dropper instead of using the European dropper style I have seen on others.
I see what looks like the European style in the bottle cap, but I can't see that it can be used or removed from the cap. From what little I have seen and used, the European style gives you more "control" over how many drops you use at any given time. That being said, I still think this is a very good product for any household. Just be careful to not use too much or you could be in Lavender Nirvana, but then again, that might not be a bad thing. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but I do think I was thinking it was going to be much more restrictive, more bulky. This tennis elbow brace with neoprene, it somewhat different than some of the other braces I was thinking of. If nothing else, it was much more streamline. So I admit, I wasn't thinking it would work. Well this one really surprised me.
What I liked about this is that even with the compact size, it really did seem to add just the right amount of pressure to a spot that just "ached". This tennis elbow brace with the compression pad, allowed you to put that pressure in just the right spot and not just wearing a strap like brace.
And because the brace has Velcro on both ends of the strap, you can adjust the it, to make the brace strap as large or as small as you need by adjusting each side, to position it right where you need it. I can see this brace being use by both men and women. Because this is a set of two, I am thinking I will let my husband "borrow" one to keep in his golf bag for his occasional "golf elbow". Not a big sports person? This could also work for those of us who suffer from tendonitis, cubital tunnel, bursitis, osteoporosis and even arthritis too!

When you see this watch it just looks rich. Zebrawood is an exotic wood, who's coloring is due to the light colored sapwood in contrast to the darker colored grains. Which also means each watch is just a little bit different because nature has a hand in its design and is always changing.
Along with the Champagne face, that also contrasts with the darker grains, it just looks simply gorgeous.
The face is also big enough that it is very easy to read, no matter what it is you are doing. I believe it is the largest face of any of the women's watches that JORD currently creates, but I don't believe it is too large for most women. I have to say I am so very happy with this watch. I can see me wearing this one every day. Its perfect for work, especially with the larger face, but also great for a casual day with the girls. But the guys aren't being left out. Oh no, there are men's watches by JORD too, including a Frankie series of their own!
This one was also created with the Zebrawood band, but with a Navy face.

It is dishwasher safe, really easy to take care of because of it being made of Stainless Steel and has a Lifetime Guaranty.
I can see this sitting proudly on anyone's bar or you can use the velvet sleeve for storing away. But it really is a nice shiny shaker, so I personally wouldn't be storing it away -- I will keep mine out and ready to use any time we want to check out some more of those 100 cocktail recipes!

I have to say that I really wasn't sure what to expect with this book. It is a YA book that was dealing with a subject that could be very deep, very scary and yes very difficult to handle. The subject, in my opinion, High School Peer Pressure. As the cover says, the price of fitting in - selling out. The subject could have been pushed off to the side, as if it really doesn't exist, and the main theme heralded as stay with what you are good at, especially since it is written for YA/teens. It could have become a very dark and "scary" to believe that the "bad girls" of high school could happen to anyone. What did happen, and again I applaud the author, Johannah Davies (J.D.) Spero for how well she handled it. She was able to show how you can break free of peer pressure and "survive". Especially when you know in your heart this isn't what you want to do or what you should do. She didn't sugar coat the problem, but did highlight that everyone has their own talents that should be pursued and encouraged, without the excluding of everything else in life. In high school, we have a lot of things to learn. Including what we are good at and what we want to do for more than a year. It is a time to be making friends who may not be as talented in some areas, but it helps make life interesting.

When I began reading this book, I was thinking it would be like the old "I Love Jeannie" TV series reruns that I remember from my childhood. I mean it is about genies after all. But that really was what I thought and I was so very far from the reality of this book. Yes one of the main characters and a few others are genies, but it is more about self discovery.
First Brielle, a genie, learns about herself without magic and how much she believes magic, or lack there of, defines her. Addie, her first assignment, learns how much she needs to believe, in friendship as well as wishes, when Brielle comes into her life and starts breaking down the walls around her heart.
Brielle, and all genies, only have 3 weeks to grant wishes to their charges. Brielle has not, as the story begins, granted a wish and therefore has not received her magic yet. She desperately needs Addie to make a wish so that she can receive her magic, but to also free Addie from her self imposed loneliness. When genies start disappearing before their weeks are up, aka die, the search is on to find the cause while also trying to grant Addie at least one wish before the end of the three week time frame and to receive her magic. I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons. But the fact that it is a "safe" book for younger readers without making it a "kids only" book, makes it a great choice for anyone.
