Happy Halloween 2016

I hope you all have a wonderful time with all the little ones coming around ...

I always love to watch the kids during this time of year.

And of course all those who carve those pumpkins, oh so nicely.

This is the best picture I have seen for Halloween.  I have posted this once or twice before, but well since I like I need to share when it should is appropriate.

A New Green Bean Side

This one is pretty interesting.
If like us, there is always a green bean casserole or green bean "something" on the holiday table, this is something you just might want to stop and take notice of.

Yield: 8

Ingredients
  • ½ fennel bulb
  • 1 lb. green beans, trimmed
  • 1 lemon, juiced with Zest ’N Press® Gadget
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp. coarse kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
Instructions
  1. Using food guider, slice fennel using Mandoline round knob set to #2, triangular knob to “lock” and select the straight v-shaped blade insert.
  2. Place slices in SmartSteamer colander tray.
  3. Place green beans in SmartSteamer base. Placing the colander tray on top and cover.
  4. Fill water tray with 1¾ cups water and place the steamer base over water tray, cover and microwave on high power 10 minutes.
  5. Mix lemon juice, mustard, 1/3 cup olive oil, salt and pepper in Quick Shake® Container.
  6. Add cooked green beans, fennel, pecans and cranberries into a large bowl with the dressing and stir to combine.
  7. Serve immediately.
I am definitely going to see about adding this to our holiday table as a different side dish. May even "replace" the "old" standard Green Bean Casserole.

DIY Makeup Remover

This one caught my eye when I was checkout out my back office at Tupperware recently.
I'm not sure how I missed it when it was first posted, but it is definitely something that I am going to have in my makeup case from now on.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tbsp. baby wash
  • 1 cup water
  • Optional: ¼ tsp. tea tree oil
  • 80 ct. package cotton rounds

Instructions
  1. Stir together coconut oil, baby wash, water, and tea tree oil if using.
  2. Divide cotton rounds between four Snack Cups. Some may not fit until after water mixture is poured over the cotton rounds.
  3. Slowly pour water mixture over cotton rounds dividing evenly so all of cotton is soaked with mixture.
  4. Once there is room in Snack Cups, add any remaining cotton rounds and pour remaining water over rounds.
  5. Seal and store up to three months.
I love having things, like these, that I can make (and obviously use) that doesn't have a ton of ingredients that I can't read or pronounce or that I need a science degree to understand.
If you like making your own home-made gifts, this is definitely something for you to check out.

Do you want to be Successful?

Of course you do.
Everyone wants to be successful.

The difference is how we define successful, as well as what we want to be successful at.

BUT there is one thing that we can all agree on with success ....

Thanks to Pele for this reminder.

So lets put in the work and perseverance so that we can be successful at what we LOVE!

Creamy Cranberry Vinigrette

It must be Cranberry season ... and I love cranberries.
Being from New Jersey that is a good thing.  In fact where I went to college (here in NJ) they had a cranberry bog not far from where the campus was located.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup plain full-fat yogurt
  • ¼ cup canned jellied cranberry sauce
  • 3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • ¼ tsp. coarse kosher salt

Instructions:

  1. In the base of the Quick Shake® container, add yogurt, cranberry, olive oil, vinegar, garlic, and salt.
  2. Secure Quick Shake® cover.
  3. Shake until well combined.
  4. Refrigerate up to three days.
I think this could be an awesome dressing for so many things.  I'm thinking it could be great for those day after Turkey Days!  It could be in a salad, but also as a dressing for a sandwich too!

Check out the Tupperware pieces on my Tupperware site, so that you can see this and all the other great pieces there.  Have a question?  Just ask.  I love talking about my Tupperware.

Ranch Dressing or Dip for an awesome Game Day treat

I saw this one and knew it was definitely one of those things that will be made often in my house.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup full fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. buttermilk
  • ½ tsp. white wine vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp. coarse kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tbsp. fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, yogurt, buttermilk, vinegar, garlic, salt, onion powder, dill, and parsley until well combined.
  2. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Refrigerate, covered, 30 minutes.
  4. Serve cold with vegetables, chips,
  5. As a dip for wings,
  6. Or in place of mayonnaise on a sandwich or slider.
I am definitely liking this recipe.  There really isn't anything that isn't in most refrigerators or pantries, but it definitely packs a great flavor for so many things.  I believe this would be a great companion for the Green Chili Chicken Sliders I told you about before.

I know for us, it will become a go to for any event, but will be great for those game day needs.  And if you need a server for game day or frankly any day it is the Tupperware Serving Center!  I can even see bringing this out for a New Years Day celebration!

You can check all these out on my Tupperware Site.  Or ask any question, because I am sure you know I love my Tupperware.

#HolidaySpiritforHire

To keep big brother happy I received this product for free to facilitate my review, in exchange for my honest opinion. I will only highlight products that I feel will be of benefit to or enjoyed by my readers. For more information regarding product review, please refer to my media kit

I am not a big fan of "pushing the holidays" but I thought it might be cute.  It was a mixture of fantasy, paranormal and romance all rolled into one.
I have to say that I really did enjoy this book.
Holiday Spirit For Hire
Perhaps its because I still believe in miracles and magic and the possibilities of both, especially during the Christmas season.

It was a nice quick read, but not a child's story. Now there wasn't anything explicit, but there were moments where you may not want your young teen to read.

If you are looking for something to get into the holiday spirit or to make you believe that there still is magic in the world, this is perfect.

Who knows, it could even make you believe in the Holiday Spirit again.  You know that spirit that we all knew existed when we were little.

I did receive this product for free or at a steep discount as part of the Tomoson.com review program in exchange for my honest review. Regardless, I never recommend anything that I don't feel would be of benefit to my readers.
