#tenniselbowbrace a solution perhaps

To keep big brother happy I received this product for free to facilitate my review, in exchange for my honest opinion. I will only highlight products that I feel will be of benefit to or enjoyed by my readers. For more information regarding product review, please refer to my media kit
I was a little surprised when I opened the package and saw this brace.

I really wasn't sure what to expect, but I do think I was thinking it was going to be much more restrictive, more bulky.  This tennis elbow brace with neoprene, it somewhat different than some of the other braces I was thinking of.  If nothing else, it was much more streamline.  So I admit, I wasn't thinking it would work.

Well this one really surprised me.

What I liked about this is that even with the compact size, it really did seem to add just the right amount of pressure to a spot that just "ached".

This tennis elbow brace with the compression pad, allowed you to put that pressure in just the right spot and not just wearing a strap like brace.
And because the brace has Velcro on both ends of the strap, you can adjust the it, to make the brace strap as large or as small as you need by adjusting each side, to position it right where you need it.

I can see this brace being use by both men and women.  Because this is a set of two, I am thinking I will let my husband "borrow" one to keep in his golf bag for his occasional "golf elbow".

Not a big sports person?  This could also work for those of us who suffer from tendonitis, cubital tunnel, bursitis, osteoporosis and even arthritis too!

I did receive this product for free or at a steep discount as part of the Tomoson.com review program from GA-Group in exchange for my honest review. Regardless, I never recommend anything that I don't feel would be of benefit to my readers.

Believe in yourself and life will be your teacher

I am sure that there are many other there that can relate to these.
I know I can.
It's just that someone else put them into words.  Perhaps they are the words I couldn't express for the events of life.

Everyone wants you to have experience ... I guess this is why.  They don't want to be the one to give you the lesson, they would rather assume you can do it, so they test you first.

I have always said to my kids that if you believe in yourself you are half way there.

I can't even count how many times they have told me that they couldn't do something because it was too "difficult" or someone else told them that it was too "difficult" for them.

I've always just said to smile, say watch me and then go out and do it.

Perhaps this was what I was really trying to prove to them.

JORD Unique WoodWatches and a Giveaway!

Have you seen JORD Wood Watches, since I last posted about them?
Can you guess which is inside this box?

I'm really excited that I have been able to connect/collaborate with JORD to review another watch.
You may recall a few months ago I was able to review the Ely  that I really loved and still do.

This time I received

the Frankie

When you see this watch it just looks rich.  Zebrawood is an exotic wood,
who's coloring is due to the light colored sapwood in contrast to the darker colored grains.

Which also means each watch is just a little bit different because nature has a hand in its design and is always changing.

Along with the Champagne face, that also contrasts with the darker grains, it just looks simply gorgeous.

The face is also big enough that it is very easy to read, no matter what it is you are doing.
I believe it is the largest face of any of the women's watches that JORD currently creates, but I don't believe it is too large for most women.

I have to say I am so very happy with this watch.  I can see me wearing this one every day.  Its perfect for work, especially with the larger face, but also great for a casual day with the girls.

But the guys aren't being left out.

Oh no, there are men's watches
by JORD too,
including a Frankie series of their own!

This one was also created with the Zebrawood band, but with a Navy face.
I can see my man wearing this one .. how about you?

I really like JORD's philosophy on creating these timepieces.
They say they make their watches for people who don't JUST have somewhere to BE
they have somewhere to GO

Now for the Giveaway info.
JORD has generously offered one of my readers, a $100 coupon to use for their very own Wood Watch!

Holiday Shopping NOW with Tupperware and more

I couldn't wait to share this one that I got in my email!
I just love all the wonderful specials that you can get from Tupperware for this upcoming holiday season.
But don't dilly dally since these first items are only available until September 9th or when they sell out.

If you have a Disney lover in your house (or family or friends) the canisters and cookie keeper is super cute!  Would make an awesome awesome gift for this holiday season.

The TupperElf Totes are great for all kinds of "packing".  I love these totes from Tupperware and use all mine when I go to the grocery store.  They hold a lot of groceries AND make them so easy to transport them into the house.  Oh and if they get enough votes to pass that law to charge 5 cents a bag at the grocery store, you will no longer need those brown paper or plastic bags.

Now if you have been thinking about joining in with us, check out what you can get/earn if you join my team in the month of September.

Now this is pretty awesome .. $160 in products for just a $40 co-pay with $500 sales by Sept 30th.

Now just in case you have forgotten or missed what the Tupperware kit looks like, here it is.

You could also end up with just paying $39 for your kit, if you have sales of $1,000 within your first 60 days!  Yes it can be done, I just had a new recruit earn her kit in just 3 weeks!!! And that is in addition to all the other things you could earn during your first 13 weeks!

Interested?
You could sign yourself up right from my Tupperware website and clicking on the "Join Us" tab on the left side of the site.
Want to join by paying in 2 installments? Contact me and I will call you so we can get your info and payment info.

Apple Crisp for anytime

I love easy recipes.  Don't get me wrong, I love to cook and "experiment" with new or different recipes and ingredients, but simple easy to make is overall the best.

If you are an apple lover, like my hubby, you will just love this one.  I can see this one being made weekly during the upcoming Fall season.

Yield: 6
Serving Size: ½ cup

Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled & cored
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • ½ tbsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
Topping
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tbsp. Cinnamon-Vanilla Seasoning Blend
  • ½ tsp. coarse kosher salt
  • ½ cup nuts, chopped
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425° F.
  2. Assemble Mandolin with circular knob set to 4 and triangular knob set to “lock”.
  3. Attach apple to food guider and slide down Mandolin to slice. Repeat with remaining apples until all apples have been sliced.
  4. Place sliced apples in medium bowl, toss with lemon juice, seasoning blend, sugar and flour.
  5. In small bowl, combine all topping ingredients and mix well.
  6. Place sliced apples in UltraPro 2-Qt. Square Pan, sprinkle with topping evenly.
  7. Bake 20 minutes or until apples are cooked through and crisp is golden brown.
If you would like any of the Tupperware pieces noted here, or if you want to see what is new at Tupperware (and yes so much more than those Burp Bowls of old) you can always check out my Tupperware Site any time of day or night.

Where you want to be

These were good examples of those "aha" moments for me.

And then when you think that its been enough "time" ....

It's then that when you look back and think about all the things that you went through or accomplished to be just where you wanted to be you can pat yourself on the back because

  • You have survived
  • You have gone through a ton
  • You survived
  • You accomplished a lot
  • You made it!

Congratulations!
Now lets set our sights on where we want to be so that we will know when we have arrived.

#SHIKSHOOK Premium Cocktail Shaker Set

To keep big brother happy
I received this product for free to facilitate my review, in exchange for my honest opinion. I will only highlight products that I feel will be of benefit to or enjoyed by my readers. For more information regarding product review, please refer to my media kit.

The Shikshook Premium Cocktail Shaker is just a really nice set to have on anyone's bar.

I was really very surprised with all the things that are available in the set.
It all fit in one relatively small box, but the shaker is anything but small!
The shaker is 25 oz with a built in stainer.

Inside this velvet sleeve, is everything you need to create some awesome drinks.

Believe it on not inside this sleeve is:
  • 25 oz Cocktail Shaker
  • Double Jigger (1/2 & 1 oz size)
  • 2 high quality pourers

Oh and if you aren't a past Bartender,
you also get 100 cocktail recipes in a great e-book.

Shikshook Premium Cocktail Shaker Set
I really like this set.
It is dishwasher safe, really easy to take care of because of it being made of Stainless Steel and has a Lifetime Guaranty.

I can see this sitting proudly on anyone's bar or you can use the velvet sleeve for storing away.  But it really is a nice shiny shaker, so I personally wouldn't be storing it away -- I will keep mine out and ready to use any time we want to check out some more of those 100 cocktail recipes!

I hope you will check it out.
It would make a great gift too!

I did receive this product for free or at a steep discount as part of the Tomoson.com review program from Shikshook in exchange for my honest review.  Regardless, I never recommend anything that I don't feel would be of benefit to my readers.

Are You Having a Rough Day Today?

We all have bad days.
Days where we just have no idea why we were even put on this Earth.
I'm sure you know what I mean.
I don't think anyone is immune.

When I saw this I just had to share.
Hopefully it will give you a little more "insight" when those feelings hit.

So, no matter how bad of a day you are having .. Please Don't Give Up!
The answer, your reason, could be right around the corner.

Stop doing these things TODAY

This one I really like.
Sometimes I admit, they are very very difficult to stop.
It may be, at least in the beginning, something that you need to remind yourself of EVERY day.  Yes it is that important.

Shall we agree to start stopping these things TODAY?

Easy Fruity Cobbler

Want to talk about super super easy, this is it.
Ok so you end up with a visit from someone (maybe a mother in law) for coffee but you don't have anything to go with that coffee. Here is something to save your visit.

This one is so easy but tastes so good .... go to your pantry and pick up these "normal" pantry items and you will have a really nice dessert, or something special to go with coffee without breaking a sweat!

Fruity Oatmeal Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 12 oatmeal cookies
  • 1 can (21 oz.) pie filling, any flavor

Instructions
  1. Crumble 8 of the oatmeal cookies in the bottom of the UltraPro 3.7-Qt Casserole Pan with Cover.
  2. Pour pie filling on top of crumbled cookies and spread evenly.
  3. Crumble remaining 4 cookies on top.
  4. Bake with Cover in the microwave on high for 8 minutes.
  5. Use the Ice Cream Scoop and serve with vanilla ice cream.
I love the UltraPro by Tupperware.  I use mine all the time for all kinds of things from dinner to dessert, some so easy its almost not really needing a "recipe",  just like this.

Want your own UltraPro?  Check it out on my Tupperware Site.

Just let go and See what happens

I saw this on a friends Facebook Page, thanks Janna, and knew it needed to be shared here.

Sometimes we get all caught up in what is going on around us or what we want to happen and we forget that not everything needs to be planned.

For me ... this is one of the most difficult things to do.
Not so much "planning" but just sitting back and "seeing what happens".

How about you?
Is this easy for you to do?

DIY Cookies

When I first saw these, I thought I could make these with no problems at all.  I was right, but the more I looked at them I kept thinking they were sort of like the old "whoopie" pies we use to have when I was a kids, just need to add MORE cream.

Cause really everything tastes better with MORE right?

Yield: 30
Serving Size: 1 cookie

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ cup softened butter
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. espresso powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. cold water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
Filling
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tbsp. cold water
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325° F.
  2. In Thatsa® Medium Bowl, mix sugar, butter, salt and espresso powder using spatula, until well combined.
  3. Add egg, water, vanilla and mix until well incorporated.
  4. Add flour, cocoa powder and mix until a stiff dough forms.
  5. Scoop dough using a teaspoon and place on Silicone Wonder® Mat, placed on baking sheet.
  6. Flatten dough using the bottom of a Snack Cup. Repeat process until all dough is used up.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes; allow cookies to cool before removing from Silicone Wonder® Mat.

Filling

  1. Place shortening in base of Power Chef® System fitted with paddle attachment, replace cover and pull cord until smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar, ½-cup at a time, until mixture is well combined.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, replace cover and pull cord until mixture is smooth.

To assemble cookies
  1. Place 1 tsp. filling in center of cookie and place another cookie on top.
  2. Squeeze to distribute the filling evenly.
  3. Repeat with remaining cookies.
  4. Store in airtight container.
Now if you were going to make these more like whoopie pies, you would probably need more than a teaspoon of cookie dough and filling, I'm thinking more like a tablespoon of each, but it would be a fun experiment.

Remember you get to eat anything that doesn't turn out "perfect".

Need any of the Tupperware products mentioned above?  Check them out on my Tupperware Site ... its open any time of day or night!  Have a question?  Just ask, I'm here.

Your Words Matter

I saw this a few days ago and thought as the school year is starting NOW is the perfect time to share this.
It was originally posted on Instagram by Amy Beth Gardner.  Thank you Amy for a perfect reminder that words do matter.

My daughter starts middle school tomorrow. We've decorated her locker, bought new uniforms, even surprised her with a new backpack.
But tonight just before bed, we did another pre-middle school task that is far more important than the others.
I gave her a tube of toothpaste and asked her to squirt it out onto a plate.

When she finished, I calmly asked her to put all the toothpaste back in the tube.
She began exclaiming things like "But I can't!" and "It won't be like it was before!" I quietly waited for her to finish and then said the following:

"You will remember this plate of toothpaste for the rest of your life. Your words have the power of life or death.
As you go into middle school, you are about to see just how much weight your words carry. You are going to have the opportunity to use your words to hurt, demean, slander and wound others.
You are also going to have the opportunity to use your words to heal, encourage, inspire and love others.
You will occasionally make the wrong choice; I can think of three times this week I have used my own words carelessly and caused harm.
Just like this toothpaste, once the words leave your mouth, you can't take them back.
Use your words carefully.
When others are misusing their words, guard your words.
Make the choice every morning that life-giving words will come out of your mouth.
Decide tonight that you are going to be a life-giver in middle school.
Be known for your gentleness and compassion.
Use your life to give life to a world that so desperately needs it.
You will never, ever regret choosing kindness."

Yes you CAN make other people's day better

Sometimes we all need someone to tell us it will be ok.
Sometimes we all need someone to show us that things are not as bad as we originally thought they were.

YOU could be that someone to somebody else.

No I'm not talking about spending a fortune every day.
No I'm not even talking about spending 1 thin dime!

I saw this the other day and thought that this was a perfect explanation as to why I and many others will say nice things to people we pass on the street.
Usually it makes them smile as well as me.

So lets start finding things to compliment people with every day.
Who knows, we could all end up happier inside and out!

#Forte

I am keeping Big Brother happy with this disclosure. I received this product for free to facilitate my review, in exchange for my honest opinion. I will only highlight products that I feel will be of benefit to or enjoyed by my readers. For more information regarding product review, please refer to my media kit.
https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/635122
I have to say that I really wasn't sure what to expect with this book. It is a YA book that was dealing with a subject that could be very deep, very scary and yes very difficult to handle. The subject, in my opinion, High School Peer Pressure.  As the cover says, the price of fitting in - selling out.

The subject could have been pushed off to the side, as if it really doesn't exist, and the main theme heralded as stay with what you are good at, especially since it is written for YA/teens.

It could have become a very dark and "scary" to believe that the "bad girls" of high school could happen to anyone.

What did happen, and again I applaud the author, Johannah Davies (J.D.) Spero for how well she handled it.  She was able to show how you can break free of peer pressure and "survive".
Especially when you know in your heart this isn't what you want to do or what you should do.

She didn't sugar coat the problem, but did highlight that everyone has their own talents that should be pursued and encouraged, without the excluding of everything else in life.

In high school, we have a lot of things to learn.  Including what we are good at and what we want to do for more than a year.  It is a time to be making friends who may not be as talented in some areas, but it helps make life interesting.

I received a free copy of this ebook from Netherfield Publishing through the Tomoson.com program in exchange for my honest opinion.  I only recommend products that I feel would be of benefit to my readers.

What Happiness is vs what it isn't

I believe we have all seen this before, but we need to be reminded from time to time what it is to have true happiness.

I may have even shared this before...
but sometimes we all just need a gentle reminder.

Of course we would all like to have "more" but sometimes what we have is "more" than what we deserve.
And of course we should be so very grateful for everything we have received.
Some have much less.

What do you think?

Southwest Cheese Spread

I may be wrong, considering I am a "Yankee", but this reminds me of the Southern Pimento Cheese that I had heard so much about when my company was relocating to Georgia so many years ago.
It really does sound good and I'm thinking you could make this into a type of grilled cheese sandwich with a twist as well as a spread for parties.

Yield: 16
Serving Size: 2 tbsp.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole (about 2-oz.) jarred fancy pimento, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Monterrey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1-1 1/2 tbsp. Southwest Seasoning Blend

Instructions
  1. Place pimiento into base of Power Chef® System fitted with blade attachment, replace cover and pull cord 2-3 times to chop.
  2. Add mayonnaise, cream cheese shredded cheese and seasoning blend to Power Chef® base.
  3. Cover and pull cord to blend until smooth.
  4. Place seal on base and refrigerate until cold, at least 1 hour and up to 3 days.
  5. Serve with crackers or on a sandwich.
I think the Power Chef from Tupperware makes this super easy and quick, but it is something that can be used for so many other things as well.

You can check it out on my Tupperware Site or leave me a message and I will get back to you with answers to any questions you have.
