Tupperware Parties - better than ever

Have you looked at Tupperware lately?
Do you know what Tupperware has to offer now?
We are so much more than those old "burp bowls".

Not that there is anything wrong with a "burp" bowl - we still have those.  I have a few of those.

And this set of Wonderlier Bowls (yes this HUGE set) is coming for a limited time in a few weeks (shhh its the February brochure), but you can get our "smaller" set of three at anytime, and of course they are wonderful too.

Or the Thatsa Bowls - if you need LARGE bowls (Medium holds 19 cups, Mega holds 42 cups!)

But we have so many more things for your kitchen and your parties.

Like these great microwave pieces.
This one, TupperWave Cook-It™ 2¼-Qt./2.25 L Bowl, or the smaller TupperWave Cook-It™ 1½-Qt./1.5 L Bowl, is great for soups and stews in the microwave.

I will be using mine, I think, for some Super Bowl Chili this weekend.

Like our UltraPro cookware ...
that are Microwave AND Oven Safe!
Just look at this great recipe that you can make with UltraPro cookware

I don't have the round UltraPro, but I've made this in the smaller rectangle one
and may just have to make this again this weekend.

And then there is the Smart Steamer.  This one is a dream in the microwave!  Everyone is hopping on the healthier cooking train and having steamed meals to retain the vitamins and minerals in veggies is at the top of the list.  This steamer is PERFECT.  The only thing that is exposed to the microwave is the water in the bottom container - the microwaves heat this water to boiling, that then steams the food to perfection!  There are so many wonderful meals that can be made in this baby, not just veggies!  I even have a recipe to make your own Sliders that I will email you with your order that are like those White Castle ones, only BETTER.

And remember - if you order from me directly, or join in on my current online party (that is not on a party with a hostess/friend) by putting in your name and email address, saying you will not attend you can then place your order, AND your order is more than $50,

I will send you a Tupperware eGift Certificate, to use on a future order!

I am sending these certificates in $5 denominations -
order product of  $50 to $100 get $5 certificate,
order $100 to $150 get $10 certificate,

$150 to $200 get $15 certificate or talk to me about being/having your own party (with TupperConnect for family and friends to order too) and get hostess credits/bonuses too!

It's finally Friday

Well lets see ...

its January 31st  .... end of the month

AND of course you know there are all kinds of things (special sales) that are ending at Tupperware today with this having been the "extra" long month of Super specials.  You know what Super Specials I'm talking about right?  Like the 40% off Modular Mates (gotta LOVE an organized pantry or cabinet) or the super cute red hearts for just $4!  But these all end at midnight tonight, so don't miss out.

There are these and so much more that you can check them out on my Tupperware Site

But it is also time to

Happy Friday!

Don't Give up

Here's another one of those "pep talk" or "inspirational" pictures to get you ready to start the week off on the right foot.

Sometimes you just need to be reminded that all of this, all the trials and tribulations that we go through from one day to the next - will eventually all work out if we Don't Give Up!

So are you with me?

Have you put on your Big Girl Panties?

Have you had your coffee?  You know I don't start the day without my coffee.....

OK LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!

Have a wonderful week.

Todays wish for you

I hope you all stay warm today, wherever you may be.
We are having a "heat wave" here in NJ today - its 23 degrees (or so my outside thermometer says from the comfort of the INSIDE of my house).

I saw this the other day (I don't remember where but there are some "credits" on the picture) and just thought it was perfect to share with you today.

My wood stove is "cranking" out the heat ... thank you for all the wood we have still stacked outside the garage.  Yes that means I have to go outside to actually get the wood - but if I bring in a little each day we should be ok until the weather "breaks" again.  It can't stay this cold for too much longer, Can it?

So what are those good things that you would like to see come true?

Is it the winning lottery ticket?  Or just a warm comfy blanket?

Do you have plans for the day?  Are you in a snowy area so you can go sledding or skiing?
We have the snow, but I don't ski (ski season and tax season co-inside so ... you know which one ends up winning in this house) and I don't think I've been sledding since my son was like 8 ....... and he just turned 28 (oh me how did that happen?)

I think I will just stay by the wood stove, and have a nice cup of cappuccino - yes that sounds like a great idea.  What do you think?

Be that ONE

While I'm sitting in a seminar in the nuances of the tax changes for this year ... I will leave you to ponder this.

I know I have heard this before .... EVERYTHING starts with just 1.

Sometimes you need someone else to be that one.
Sometimes you need to BE that one.

Start today and look for times that YOU can BE that one.
When YOU will make a difference
just by being
THAT ONE.

How about we start today - together.
How about we make that pact to look for ways to make a difference
Just by being THAT ONE for today!

Are you in?

Are YOU ready for a Super Bowl Party?

I know you are either a die hard footballer who would not miss the Super Bowl or you are still hoping that your team makes it into the Super Bowl this year.  It is going to be played in the "wonderful world of NJ" although I know the folks in NY want you to think it is there ...

I know I like to watch the Super Bowl, I love the commercials - ok usually I love the commercials, and of course the parties that revolve around the day itself.  I had to share something that is on sale at Tupperware that would make Super Bowl Parties a breeze!

How about a Soup and Salad Set, that includes:
• Exclusive 7½-cup/1.8 L Soup Server with Ladle.
• 40-cup/10 L Maxi Salad Bowl with Serving Forks.
• Set of four 3-cup/700 mL Salad Bowls.
• Set of four 1¾-cup/400 mL Soup Bowls.
• 1¾-cup/400 mL Serving Platter with Spoon.
• Dishwasher safe.
• In Cherry/Snow White.

I can see this being used for a Chili Bar or a Taco Station in addition to a great Soup and Salad Station.  But if you need more than 4 of each bowls, you can pick up more in sets of 4 as well!

And of course if you are going to have a "bar" of some kind, I believe the Serving Center is PERFECT

• Features six 2-cup/500 mL compartments and one 14-oz./400mL removable center bowl with seal.
• Removable bowl is microwavable for reheating dips and sauces.
• 13½ x 3¾"/34 x 9.5 cm.
• In Cherry with Cherry cover.
• Domed cover doubles as serving tray or keeps foods chilled when filled with ice.
• Dishwasher safe.

The other thing I like about these pieces is that they are in colors that can go from one season to the next and they just look like FUN.  I can see the serving center used for so many different things, I think the chili bar is great or a baked potato bar would be interesting too.
Or a Fondue Bar?  A Slider Bar?  (make those sliders in the smart steamer .. yummo)
But how about an ice cream sundae bar for a birthday party or in the summer?  Or a build your own salad or crudite center for a cocktail party?  The ideas are endless.

And this week it is on SALE!!!

You could have all these pieces, and so much more, on my Tupperware Site  and have it for Super Bowl Parties!  There are lots of things that are on sale AND exclusive for online parties (always one available on my site - this months party is here ).

Since I've been having so much fun with my monthly deal of the month - I am going to continue it this month as well.  For anyone who orders $50 or more in product, will receive an e-certificate from me for future purchases.  If you order $50 in product, I will send you a $5 e-certificate, $100 would get you a $10 certificate and so on.

We just increased our family .........

We have had this wonderful machine (yes today I call it wonderful) for a little more than a year now.

Ok it is our second machine but that was before I learned about the "extra" cleaning trick....

We have had a few problems with this one too, but those were fixed (I learned about the wonderful "paper clip" trick from Keurig Customer Service) and I get to have coffee at the drop of a pod, so to speak.
The wonderful thing is that we rarely "throw out" left over coffee .... I do still have a regular coffeemaker (shhhh its for big company visits) but I don't use that one very often.

My husband saw a commercial for the newest Keurig system and thought it would make a great addition to the "family".  Yesterday a big box arrived at my door, with ...

you guess it the Keurig RIVO!
So now on my counter is a "regular" Keurig and the Rivo .... give us a few weeks and we will have a review of the Keurig Rivo to share with you.

I have to say that we are espresso and cappuccino lovers in this house so it could be getting a definite detailed workout!

I can't wait ... what would you be having first?  A cappuccino or espresso?  It's too cold here for any of those iced coffee drinks a la Starbucks but those will be for the summer I'm sure.

What flavors would you use?

This is a REAL Teacher ... Inspiring

I read this and thought it was PERFECT to share as school is just restarting for the "second half" of the year.  It might have been even better in September, but you know what they say - better late than never!

In September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a History teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, did something not to be forgotten.

On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks in her classroom.

When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks. 'Ms. Cothren, where are our desks?' She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn the right to sit at a desk.'

They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.' 'No,' she said. 'Maybe it's our behavior.' She told them, 'No, it's not even your behavior.' And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom. Kids called their parents to tell them what was happening and by early afternoon television news crews had started gathering at the school to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room.

The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the desk-less classroom. Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he or she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.'

At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniform, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.

Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks.

These heroes did it for you.

They placed the desks here for you.
They went halfway around the world, giving up their education and interrupting their careers and families so you could have the freedom you have.

Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'

By the way, this is a true story. And this teacher was awarded Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year for the State of Arkansas in 2006. She is the daughter of a WWII POW.

Do you think this is worth passing along so others won't forget either, that the freedoms we have in this great country were earned by our U.S. Veterans? ................... I did.

Perhaps this is how the saying

"If you can read this post, thank a teacher.
If you can read it in English, thank a Vet"
came about.

Let us always remember the men and women of our military and the rights they have won for us.

Andrea Pearson - Celebrating the Kilenya Series

I have had the privilege of reading many books in the fantasy genre and I have to say that this series is a wonderful read for all ages.  I am helping Andrea promote the series that she recently finished, so that everyone will be able to read these wonderful books.
So without further ado ....... Here is Andrea.

Hi, Everyone!

My name is Andrea Pearson and I'm an author of middle grade and young adult fantasy books. In celebration of the completion of my Kilenya Series, I'm giving away eBooks! Read on for more details. :-)

The Key of Kilenya, first book in the Kilenya Series (with 50 five-star reviews on Amazon), is available everywhere for free (Kindle, Nook, Smashwords), but only until the 18th of January.

It's originally $3.99, and is geared to readers 10 and older. If it were a movie, it would be rated PG. No swearing or vulgarity, and very minimal violence.

Here's the book description:

We all have a choice—but we can’t choose the consequences.

Jacob Clark is chased down a path that takes him to another world—a world where he is a wanted young man. The Lorkon want to control him and the special powers he possesses. The people of the new world want him to save them from the destruction of the Lorkon. All Jacob wants is to go home, but even that choice has consequences. He doesn’t know what to do and if he waits too long, the new world and the one he came from will be destroyed. As Jacob looks for people he can trust, he finds himself in the center of the fight for freedom—both for himself and the people he’s come to know.

Jacob has no idea where the path he chooses will take him, but once the choice has been made—bring on the consequences.

Back to Andrea. :-) I had so much fun writing this book! I came up with the idea for the magical key when I was 10 - the same age as many of my readers - and built on it until I was 22, when I sat down and actually wrote the book. The Kilenya Series has sold really well and I've been so excited to find people just as passionate about the books as I am. :-)

The second book, The Ember Gods, is available for $0.99 until January 18, but you don't have to buy it if you don't want to, because I'm giving it away for free.

In fact, I'm giving away three different eBooks. The only thing required on your part is to decide which one you want, mention it on this blog post, then email me the info, and I'll send you the file. :-)

Here are the books to choose from:

The Ember Gods, Kilenya Series Book Two

Original and discounted price: $3.99 to $0.99
(or free, if you choose this eBook :-))
Discounted Until January 18th
Genre and target audience: Fantasy for teens
If this book were a movie, what would it be rated? PG
If you don't want it for free (ha ha :-)), you can download it from: Kindle, Nook

Book description:

Jacob Clark’s new abilities are a blessing and a curse. He’s a hero for returning the magical Key of Kilenya to its rightful owners, but at school he's starting to get noticed for something other than his basketball skills. And the attention is freaking him out.

Balancing both worlds is tricky enough, but Jacob has tasked himself with saving Aloren who’s trapped in Maivoryl City by the Ember Gods. He doesn't want to wait for the potion that will protect his team from the corrosive influence of the Lorkon, but the desire to prove himself to the high school basketball coach conflicts with his plans to rescue her.

Feeling pulled by both sides, Jacob must walk a tightrope of warring worlds with lives on the line. Lives that will be lost if he doesn’t figure out how to complete his quest and balance his abilities. Fast.

August Fortress, Kilenya Series Book Three

Price: $3.99 (or free, if you choose this eBook :-))
Genre and target audience: Fantasy for teens
If this book were a movie, what would it be rated? PG
If you don't want it for free, you can download it from: Kindle, Nook, Smashwords

Book description:

Since Jacob Clark discovered his abilities, his life has changed for the better—and the worse.

The basketball coach won't notice him and high school is much more complicated than before. Jacob finds himself needed more and more in Eklaron where his abilities are saving lives. And then the call comes—he and his friends must rescue the powerful Sheingols from August Fortress where they've been held for fifteen years. The only problem is, Lorkon traps are everywhere and getting past them might be impossible.

The closer he gets to his goal, the harder the traps are to overcome. Can he master more of his powers to fight the traps? Or has Jacob finally met his match?

Samara: A Kilenya Romance

Original price:$1.99 (or free, if you choose this eBook :-))
Genre and target audience: Clean teen romance
If this book were a movie, what would it be rated? G (or a very, very soft PG)
If you don't want it for free, you can download it from: Kindle, Nook, Smashwords

Book description:

When Samara Oldroyd meets the most amazing guy ever, she's frustrated their conversation is cut short. Her wishes that they'll run into each other again come true when she meets her sister's new boyfriend. It's him! Eeek!
Inspired by the film Dan in Real Life, this novella will tickle you pink as Samara tries—in vain—to undo her crush.

(There is no magic involved in this story. It contains characters you'll meet in the Kilenya Series and can be read separately.)

Now that you've chosen which free eBook you want, here's how you get it:
  1. Comment on this blog, saying which eBook you want
  2. Send me an email (ap@andreapearsonbooks.com) and tell me:
    1. The title of the book
    2. The name of the blog that sent you
    3. Which format you want the eBook in (Kindle, Nook, etc.)
And that's all!

I can't wait for you to delve into the world of Kilenya and discover the magic, monsters, and people there!

Andrea Pearson, author of the Kilenya Series, Kilenya Romances, and Katon University series, lives with her husband and daughter in a small valley framed with hills. She is Executive Director of the Indie Author Hub group and creator of the writing application, Writer’s Progress Bar. She is an editor for the website Gather.com.

Andrea spends as much time with her husband and daughter as possible. Favorite activities include painting, watching movies, collecting and listening to music, and discussing books and authors.

Her mother says they can't possibly be related because Andrea isn't in love with chocolate and tomatoes, though she’ll eat either. (But not together.) She would much rather snack on toasted English muffins with lots of butter or nearly anything with cheese.

Hi Kat back again.  Thanks for the information Andrea!  Now I also know where you can enter to win a Kindle Fire HD complete with all kinds of great books (I'm talking about her Kilenya Series books 2 - 6), that is a must enter .... you can find the super easy rafflecopter  here.

Don't forget the free ebook (the first in the series) is available until January 18th AND you could get a second book free by mentioning here in the comments and then emailing Andrea - its a fabulous win for you even if you don't win the Kindle Fire HD (although I know that would be awesome)

Think Positive

Sometimes it really is as simple as this.
But being this simple does not mean it is that easy.
Set your sights on being positive, of thinking positive and see what happens!

How many wonderful things happened to you,
What kinds of doors were opened for you?
We would all love for you to share what happens when you try to think positively.

Who knows, your experience could help someone else chose to think positively too!

7 Cardinal Rules of Life for the New Year

I saw this the other day and well I really liked it.

I think that it should be part of how we approach 2014 so that we are "off to a good start".

Don't you think that this is a perfect "reminder" to post on the wall or even on the bathroom mirror so that each day we are reminded?

I bet if we could take these 7 "rules" and apply them every day ..... by the end of 2014 we would be in a much better place

GE Reveal - a better way to light up your life.

Makeover Any Room with GE reveal’s Innovative Clean, Beautiful Light™

Ring OUT the old .... Ring IN the new!

Happy New Year.

I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve Celebration and are not suffering any ill effects, read this as nasty hangover, and are looking forward to 2014 with great optimism.

With that in mind, here is something that I saw a few weeks ago that pretty much sums up what I thing you and me and everyone else needs to do today, as we look forward to this brand new year

I know you have been told this before, or maybe you've said it to others,
but sometimes we need to be reminded
YOU ARE
GOOD ENOUGH
and anyone that doesn't see that does NOT belong in your 2014!

Now do you think my sister will recognize this too?
There are many times I know she doesn't think she is good enough
WRONG
she is BETTER than
GOOD ENOUGH!

And just in case this isn't enough ...
here's something else to leave behind!

So are you going to join me and my sister  in 2014 and recognize that you are good enough and let go of anyone that doesn't see that and tries to make you believe otherwise?  I hope so.

Thank you Mandy Hale, for reminding us what our true worth is .... and what it isn't.
We are all unique and need to be embraced as such, without comparison, without judgement.
